"So am I," replied Sabrina, smiling. "Say, are you, by any chance..." In a near whisper, she finished, "... a witch?"

Madame Lulu had been called many things in her lifetime, but never a witch. “No, please,” she admitted. “I’m a fortune-teller.”

"A fortune-teller," repeated Sabrina, smiling. "In other words, I guess you're a psychic." It was a well-known fact, of course, that most phone-in psychics were scams - but, still, she has run across a number of physics that were legit.

“Yes,” Lulu replied. “You could say that, please.”
The fortune-teller had to admit she was beginning to take a liking to Sabrina. For her interests in crystals and otherworldly things were evident by the passion reflected in her eyes as she spoke about them.
It was so rare for Lulu to come across someone who shared her interests— especially when she was stuck at a place like Caligari Carnival day and night. Now that she had a few days of freedom in her grasp, she was determined to make the most of them.

"So, uh, why don't you tell me a little more about yourself?" asked Sabrina.

“Certainly, please,” Madame Lulu replied, holding up the pink crystal Sabrina had shown her. It was by far the prettiest that the fortune-teller had ever seen, and it sparkled in the mid-afternoon sunshine. “I am known as Madame Lulu and am head of Caligari Carnival, a remote attraction located at the end of Rarely Ridden Road.”

"Caligari Carnival?" Sabrina asked, stunned. Something about the name sounded familiar to her. "Rarely Ridden Road? I've never been there, but I've heard of that place. What is it like?"

“It is home to many attractions, please,” Madame Lulu explained. “One of the most popular being the House of Freaks.”

"The House of Freaks?" Sabrina asked, raising an eyebrow. She hoped that it wasn't what she thought it was. "What does that entail?"

“Well,” Lulu answered with a mysterious smile, “this particular House of Freaks involves a contortionist, a hunchback, and an ambidextrous person.” The fortune-teller paused. “Why do you look so shocked, please?”

"Well, it's that, uh..." Sabrina paused, as she was unsure of how to continue. "Well, you do treat them as human beings - don't you? I mean, you don't encourage the spectators to treat them badly - do you? I mean, I've heard of places that do that - so that's why I..."
OOC: I hope this doesn't get too ugly.

“They are my employees,” Madame Lulu replied casually. “I give freaks jobs, and a place to live. So of course I treat them like human beings, please.” [Don’t worry, I think we’ll be fine. ]

"I guess that sounds okay," replied Sabrina, with some uncertainty. Deciding to turn her attention back to the crystals, she added, "So, Madame Lulu, when did you start collecting crystals?" OOC: Sounds cool.

“When I was a little girl,” the fortune-teller explained, “my parents would ship me off to my aunt’s for the summer, please.” Lulu made sure to leave out the reason for this, as it was so her parents could depart on business associated with V.F.D. She had no idea yet if Sabrina was a volunteer, and so Lulu was careful not to disclose any information about the organization. “My aunt was collector of crystals, just like you,” Lulu continued. “She gave me my first crystal, which is this one here, please.” She reached for a bright blue crystal, and held it up for Sabrina to see. “She was fortune-teller, too, and would often grant me permission to observe her readings with her customers.” [Great! BTW, I lovelove love your username for this week! ;D]

"That is a pretty blue crystal," Sabrina replied, admiringly. "Your aunt sounds like a great person. As for me, I come from a long line of witches. My mother is a witch, too. So is my sister, Diana - and my brother, Marcus." OCC: Hey, thank you! BTW, which side of the VFD do you think Lulu was on - and, in your ficverse, when did the schism occur? Sabrina is a VFD member, as well. Aside from the Baudelaires and Quagmires, Doc Brown is the only VFD member in Hill Valley. There is also Count Biff Tannen, but he's on the villainous side.
