"Well, boys, come right on in," invited Doc, as he started walking to his mansion. The three teens followed him. "So, Jerome, are you new in town?"
"Yeah, he is," replied Marty, softly. "I met him at the pizza parlour. He likes Huey Lewis and The News, too."
"That sounds wonderful," gushed Doc. He felt a little uncertain of whether or not he should show his inventions to Jerome. While most of Marty's friends were okay with him, they usually didn't show much interest in his experiments. "So, Jerome, what are some of your hobbies and interests?"

Jerome blushed, but forced his way past his shyness before things could get awkward. "Well, I like to cook," he said softly. "Mostly cakes and things like that. I also enjoy collecting stamps." He thought about bringing up his tie collection, but decided against it on the basis that it sounded just a little bit eccentric.

"Perhaps, you could cook for me," Doc suggested, smiling. "I've never had the best culinary skills. Science is more my thing. Well, should we go put on some tunes?" OOC: I was almost going to add in a reference to Sunny - and then I remembered it was your ASOUE Universe, and Sunny isn't yet born.

"You mean like a... a whole meal?" Jerome asked, as Doc led the three boys down a long corridor. Jerome couldn't help but be amazed by the scientist's proposal-- not since he was five years old had anyone ever requested his help in the kitchen. Maxwell Squalor insisted that such a thing was "better left to women", to which Jerome had always secretly but never openly disagreed with. It would mean going against his father, which would also mean getting involved in a dreadful argument. [It's okay, little details like that slip my mind, too. I actually had an idea for a scene we could do any time, if you're interested. I'm not sure if I mentioned this in one of the interviews I did, but Jerome has a fear of dogs. So I was thinking we could bring Einstein in at some point, and maybe help Jerome get over his fear when he sees how friendly Doc's dog is.]

"Well, if you'd like to," Doc replied, softly. "I mean, I really don't want to impose."
"Einstein!" called out Marty, as the loyal sheepdog ran up. "Einie, buddy, how are you?"
With that, Einstein started to sniff Jerome.
OOC: Sounds awesome.

Thanks. *** Although Jerome had always liked animals, he had never been able to put behind him his fear of dogs. It had all started when he was still a child, on a day his mother had taken him to the park. Cora had had a friend (though Jerome could no longer remember the other woman's name) who owned a small Scottish terrier. When Jerome had gone to pet the dog it had snapped at him, nearly taking off his pinky finger. Though he wasn't hurt, the shock alone was enough to reduce him to tears and awaken within him a life-long fear of all things canine. Naturally, Jerome yelped at the sight of Einestein before stumbling backwards into an end table. He accidentally knocked over a lamp that was sitting there, and knocked it to the wooden floor with a crash. He was so embarrassed that he could feel a hot flush wash across his face, as he shook with fear from the pair of black eyes staring up at him.

"It's okay, buddy," Marty replied, softly - as he helped Jerome up. "Einstein is perfectly harmless. Believe it or not, before I met Einie, I also used to be afraid of dogs."
"Don't worry about the lamp," added Doc, even though he was disappointed to see it get broken. "I know you didn't do it on purpose, and I can easily replace it."
"Should we put on some tunes, guys?" asked Artie, as he was hoping to lighten up the atmosphere.

Jerome took a few steps back, putting some distance between himself and Einstein. Though he was sure that the animal was very friendly, he wasn't quite ready to pet him just yet.
"You wouldn't happen to have any Beatles albums, would you?" Jerome asked, shaking slightly from the aftershock. "I don't think I mentioned it back at the house, but they're one of my favorite bands."

"Oh, I think I have a few albums by The Beatles," Doc replied, softly. "How about Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band? I happen to enjoy that song - as, believe it or not, I was quite involved with the hippie movement of the '60s."
"Yeah, I also like that album," replied Artie, nodding.
"Yeah, that probably is the best album," agreed Marty. "It's so psychedelic. By the way, do you like any songs by Led Zeppelin?"

"Sometimes," Jerome replied. "Hard rock really isn't my thing, but I do have an appreciation for their softer songs. Like Over the Hills and Far Away. Not Andrew, though. He says if his eardrums don't feel like they're going to burst after the first thirty seconds, then a song isn't worth listening to." He grinned. "He does like Led Zeppelin - he just prefers the songs that carry a loud, booming vibe."
Because Andrew's bedroom was directly across the hallway from Jerome's, the music tended to shake the entire second floor of the Squalor mansion. Jerome had always had very sensitive ears, and the raucous booming of songs like Good Times Bad Times would often leave them ringing for days. He was surprised that his little brother hadn't gone deaf a long time ago.

"Yeah," Marty replied, smiling. "I'd say Led Zeppelin has a pretty equal amount of both hard and soft rock songs. That's part of what makes them one of the greatest bands in all of rock and roll history. I'd say that my favourites are a toss-up between Black Dog, Whole Lotta Love, and Nobody's Fault But Mine. Those songs really get me going."
"What about Over the Hills and Far Away?" Artie asked, smirking. "The song Jerome likes? Isn't it the one that almost always makes you cry?"
"Artie!" groaned Marty, as a blush crept across his face.
"How would you like to listen to Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band on vinyl?" suggested Doc, as he headed towards the phonograph. "People don't usually expect for an old fogey like me to enjoy rock and roll."

Aww, that part where Artie revealed Marty's secret made me laugh. *** Jerome was beginning to feel a little more comfortable now that the shock of meeting Einestein was wearing off. Jerome was even feeling brave enough to reach down and scratch the animal behind the ears. Einestein seemed to enjoy that, as his tail thumped stridently against the floor. Still, the disappointment in Marty's tone had not escaped Jerome's keen ears. Jerome thought hard, trying to remember if there were any bands that the two of them might have in common. "I like Aerosmith," he said finally. "And I'm... well... if it makes you feel any less embarrassed, Marty, the song Angel makes me cry every time I listen to it." Jerome smiled awkwardly. "Which is why I only listen to it when I'm alone."

OOC: Thanks! "Yeah, I also like Aerosmith," Marty replied, as he perked up. Turning to Artie, he shouted, "I can't believe you did that to me, Arthur William McFly! Embarrass me in front of our new friend, will you?" "I'm sorry," Artie replied, softly. "I guess I got a little carried away. Well, to make up for it, let me say that All My Love by Led Zeppelin makes me cry." "In that case, I guess I forgive you," Marty replied, in a quieter tone. To Jerome, he added, "I also like the song, Angel. That's a nice song. Well, even if you might not be too keen on Led Zeppelin - I'm glad that we both love Huey Lewis and The News and Very Fine Dudes." "What about movies?" asked Artie. "What movies do you enjoy watching, Jerome?"

You're very welcome! *** "Close Encounters of the Third Kind and The Breakfast Club are probably my all-time favorites," Jerome replied. "And, even though it seems silly, I'm also very partial to It's a Wonderful Life. Andrew and I watch it every year at Christmas with Mother - I guess you could say it's a tradition in our family." Jerome was amazed. He had never been able to open up this freely to anyone but Jacques Snicket. Since moving to Hill Valley, Jerome had been concerned that he might not be able to make any new friends. He'd found the process difficult enough back in San Francisco, and because this was his last year of high school he very much wanted to make himself a bit more social. Thank goodness for Marty and Artie McFly, who were proving to make that endeaver all the more easy for Jerome.

"Those are all great movies!" gushed Marty, as he flashed a lopsided smile. "Say, do you like Mind Warped?"
"I still can't get over how much we resemble Michael J Fox," Artie added, softly.
OOC: Just to let you know, Mind Warped is the movie that replaces Back to the Future in the Back to the Future Universe. It's about two guys who are mutually fictional to each other (from two different movie), who switch places with each other. Both characters are played by Michael J Fox.
