Hi everyone! What is your favorite villain in ASoUE and why?
My favorite villain is Esmé Squalor, the sixth-most important financial advisor in the city. Not only is she greedy and stylish, she actually cheats on Jerome with Count Olaf and pushes the orphans down the dark elevator shaft!I know she's a villain in the story, but she is funny and 'in'.

I'll move this to Cheerless Characters, as it's really a character issue.
Edit: And my favourite villains probably remain the sinister duo, a.k.a. the man with a beard but no hair and the woman with hair but no beard. They're just chilling, in a way that Olaf never really was.

My favorite villain will forever be Esme Squalor. She's evil, and yet has the capacity to be equally funny. One of my favorite scenes of hers was in TSS, where she argued with the Baudelaires and Quigley over the importance of nobility. I also loved the part where they dragged Esme up the slope on the toboggan and she did nothing but complain.
I love her. ;D

Tony, or rather The One Who Looks Like Neither a Man Nor a Woman. He's always been my favourite. It was so sad when she died! I also like Fernald, well I used to like him up to the point when his real name was revealed. It killed the mystery for me.

Olaf was unquestionably the most awesome up until about Book 10. After that I'm not sure, but I was a big Esme/Fernald/WFW fan

Esme! She's hilarious! Also the "sinister duo". Nightmares!

Esme all the way! I love her ''fashionable'' cruelty. Hilarious.

Esme because she's really the first person besides Olaf you meet that is actually a real villain but i also like the theatre troup in general.
