I don't know if anyone on 667 has thought of this yet, but an acquaintance of mine suggested long ago that maybe The Great Unknown is a VFD submarine, and that the volunteers ( such as Captain Widdershins) pretend it's something terrible to scare away enemies. I'm not sure myself. Any opinions from anyone?
With all due respect.

I'm going to fold this into the following thread, although I may well edit its title to make it more obvious what the subject is... Does anyone have a idea what the "?" is????To answer your question, "submarine" is a popular option, even among those of us who lean towards a rather more strongly symbolic interpretation. But that it's a V.F.D. agency and the volunteers try to scare away other volunteers from it strikes me as self-defeating. Locked.
