I'm not going to go into the details of the exactly what occurs behind the curtain, because it should be a chain of mysteries as impenetrable as anything from the series. The way you put it, 667 Dark Avenue seems to be secretly run by the mob. ;D It's a CONSPIRACY I say ! |

I'm not trying to complicate anything. I just thought it to be out of character for Snicket to leave out something as obvious as a name, even if he was trying to keep up the mysterious persona.
