According to the lemony snicket wiki:
Lemony Snicket has said in interviews (real-life) that there are enough clues in the 13th book to reveal what the sugar bowl contians, though it is not explicity stated. It has been speculated that it may in fact contain Medusoid Mycelium, although this is unfounded and in contradiction to the statement of Snicket himself above, as this could not incriminate Olaf.
Has anyone figured it out? Some people belive its the poisonous fungi, but if this was true, why would Olaf need it? He already had the fungi. It belongs to Esme, those are the only clues I could find.
Any ideas?

I'd like to see what interviews this Lemony Snicket wiki is citing, since the thirteenth book has some of the least information about the sugar bowl. I'd advise you to peruse threads such as the long-running What Is The Sugar Bowl Secret?. In particular, the sugar bowl containing either the Medusoid Mycelium or horseradish would make no sense whatsoever - after TGG Olaf has plenty of Medusoid Mycelium anyway, and before TGG everyone thought it was wiped out and so the horseradish would be useless. To be honest, I don't think we really need to start a new thread on this; it's best to add onto the rather lengthy one we already have, which probably contains everything you'd ever need to know. It's fallen back a bit, too, and could do with a good bump. So I'll invite you to read that thread, and perhaps others which mention the sugar bowl, and ask your questions there. Locked.
