- - - - - Dear Reader, Like many who have ventured into deep jungles without proper knowledge of what they were doing, if you read THE JEOPARDIZED JUNGLE, you will probably find yourself lost in the wild horror contained within, as Violet, Klaus, Sunny and Beatrice Baudelaire, recently escaped from a gambling resort, have now landed in one of the most vicious islands of the Gulag Archipelago. No one would dare to read a book with such things as a deep, tropical jungle, three volunteer sisters, a strange research facility, an imminent volcanic eruption, the shocking return of two traitors, and vile jungle insects. If getting lost inside the jungle is not on your 'Things to Do List', then you might want to add not reading this book to your 'Things Not To Do List', and avoid getting lost in a story with no happy ending. With All Due Respect, Tiago Squalor - - - - -

Wow, great title, Tiago! And you're using the Gulag Archipelago, too. I'm impressed.
I have a worrying feeling that I know who the two traitors are.

Volcano eruption is one of my favorite plot elements in stories, and I also think I know who the traitors are.
I like the banner, too.

V.F.D. Scientific Report Serial Number 3427.1DF'It appears that there is some sort of geological and botanic research being conducted in the station(s) at J XXXXXX Island in the Gulag Archipelago, a place where notably many have disappeared in in the past. The island has an active volcano and several lava outlets in ground level, hot springs, and there is a strange phenomenon of hyper-growth of botanic proportions. There are many strange XxXxXxXxXxXxXxXxXxXxXx in the XxXxXxXxXxX area as well, and the island has many other XxXxX - the rest of the report was burned, and transcripting it was impossible - - - - - - V.F.D. WEATHER REPORT Serial Number 0456.2FF As summer draws to a close, there seems to be an atmospheric disturbance in the area known as Gulag Archipelago, and the volcano there has been increasingly active, leading us to believe that it would be safer for - the rest of the report was lost - - - - - - CAPTAIN'S LOG ENTRY - A.A.As I've come to learn, things have been particularly dreadful lately not only for everyone at Luck Island, for all of the volunteers, who are desperate to hear from the Baudelaires, who have disappeared somewhere in the area known as Gulag Archipelago. Their latest misadventures have been registered and we only hope they can find the one and only way out of the island where, according to the radar of one of our submarines, they crash-landed. I shall look into the matter while we repair the A.A. My crew needs me, and I cannot rush to their side, as injured as I am. I hope they are safe. Captain E.A.

V.F.Department's Files
The readings show the ammount of seismologic activity on JXxXxXx Island, Gulag Archipelago. The volcano, Mt. Gulug, may explode into a violent eruption which may send this station flying, for a blunt way to put things. J. Description: A graphic reading of the seismologic activity on the island with a personal note from J, Noted Geologist and Seismologist. A note attached to the paper file in which this document was stored read -Please keep things as professional as possible, J. Instead of 'send this station flying' you should say 'destroy this facility' which is more appropriate.
Your sister, J. - - - - - Dear Dairy, I heard the volcano ot JXxXxXx Island is building up to a poweful eruption, which reminds me of a day in training school where I had an enormous pimple on my forehead that lost me an entire week of classes I was so ashamed of walking out of the dorms, so I spent my time reading and sleeping instead. It was good in the end, because - the middle section of the page was ripped out of the volunteer's commonplace notebook leaving only the lower section intact - spend the day in bed together. R.Q.

There seem to be a number of J's about. The volcano activity is a Very Frightening Discovery, and it makes sense the Baudelaires would show up at this time.

Yes, there seem to be a lot of J's. I don't think the geologist can be any of the J's mentioned in the books (though I wonder if he might be the geologist from BBRE). His sister, on the other hand....
As for the 'Dear Dairy' letter, who wrote that? We know only one person who uses that salutation. If it's him, I guess we know who he was in bed with. But perhaps someone else has taken the salutation over.

Wow, The Jeopardized Jungle is certainly shaping up to be an excellent fic, even if it hasn't officially begun yet. But the teasers will definitely help keep us entertained until then. A volcano threatening to erupt makes for a great subplot, and I'm interested to know the identities of those behind the initials. Though I'm quite positive I've guessed who E.A. is, as well as R.Q.

O gosh, I hadn't noticed the signature of RQ. So, it isn't L - someone else is writing to the dairy. (I'm wondering what has happened to L - he must still be alive, since he met Beatrice a lot later than this.) And so - who was R (alias T?) in bed with?

And yes, it wasn't him writing the 'Dear Dairy' entry. I like to think other volunteers took over this as yet another way to 'code' their journal entries with V.F.D. information, hence all the other volunteers using 'Dear Dairy' as an opener. To the last question, well I guess we'll have to wait and see huh? lol

V.F.D. PHOTOGRAPHIC ARCHIVES Jungle outpost, positioned closed to the V.F.D. Mt. Gulug can be seen far - but not far enough - away in the distance. A ground level outpost closed to the Indigo Lagoon, where the XXXXXxXXXxXXXx to the V.F.XXxXXXxXXx is hidden. - these words were scribbled out with charcoal -
A jungle trap used to attract the insects of the jungle for J to research them at the V.F.D. J, along with her sister J, spends her time mostly inside the dome, and their sister J takes care of the V.F.Department at Mt. Gulug. - - - - -
WEATHER REPORT Serial Number 8974.03VF Autumn approaches, and with it, the torrential rains that fall on Gulag Archipelago during winter are coming, with chance for 'previews' as the temperatures lower around the island. On the island, however, it is still hot and humid. - - - - - DAILY REPORTS - V.F.Department, Mt. Gulug: From: Volunteer J To: J Cc: J Sisters, an explosion was seen last night as an unindentified aircraft approached the island last night. It's current location is Welcomer's Bay. We at Mt. Gulug are dispatching a team of trackers to check for any survivals. Let's just hope our foes haven't landed in our island. I also have to visit you at the dome soon, the readings of the volcano's activity are beginning to worry me deeply.
With all due respect, J.
