It seems a new theatrical adaptation of The Composer is Dead has been penned, and will debut very shortly. The following AuthorTracker has the details: --- Lemony Snicket - The Theatrical Debut of The Composer is Dead! --- Dear Concerned Citizen, What could be more alarming than a picture book featuring a terrible crime, a suspicious orchestra, and a dead composer? A puppet show, of course. This holiday season, the Bay Area Tony Award-winning Berkeley Repertory Theatre brings you a live theatrical performance of Lemony Snicket's The Composer is Dead with music by Nathaniel Stookey, featuring mayhem, murder, and puppets. Watch out for the world premiere from November 26 through January 15. For tickets and information, visit www.berkeleyrep.org. With all due respect, AuthorTracker EXTRAS: Watch behind the scenes footage of Lemony Snicket and Nathaniel Stookey.---

That's a pretty sinister-looking composer, but a very realistic one.

Thanks for the links, Sherry Ann. The play sounds... really bizarre, actually. Some of the marionettes look like they're on the wrong side of terrifying.
