I added Hermes and thedoctororwell, who contributed to this thread but not to the other one. To which I should add that this is the last opportunity for people to express an interest here; if you aren't on the list of signatures but want to be, please post here and I'll add you. Although I will be adding "& all the other members of" as well.
Edit: I'm waiting for a couple of replies to questions I've sent via PM concerning a couple of the reasons, but it's all going pretty smoothly otherwise.

I added Hermes and thedoctororwell, who contributed to this thread but not to the other one.. Thanks! Sorry I couldn't come up with a reason - very busy right now - it would have been sad to be left out. (I think it would be rather nice for BSam to appear as '-', but I guess it's up to him.)

No, he's familiar with BSam after all these years. Keep his name as it is.

Perfect! Can't wait to see the result. Me, neither. And I, too, have no objections as to how my name appears. Thanks! Sorry I couldn't come up with a reason - very busy right now - it would have been sad to be left out. Don't worry, Hermes! I remember 667 did something similar to this birthday present the year I joined, and I wasn't able to come up with anything due to a lack of ideas. I'm glad that yous and Doc's names were added, too. You both give so much to the community, and not seeing your names on the project would have made it feel as though it was missing something.

Sorry for the delay; I've been busier today than I thought, and so this took far longer than I'd have liked. The list has been edited, rearranged, corrected, and smoothed-out. For people who didn't add "You should be very concerned" variants, I hope you won't be concerned to learn that I've addressed this. I hope it's not too big a problem that some, including one of mine, had to be sacrificed to get it to forty-one, too. But enough procrastinating. If there are any final changes, recommendations, objections, or any other matter that needs attending to, please raise it immediately.
--- Dear Mr. Handler,
Felicitations are in order! A forty-first birthday is a milestone reached by most people only once, or occasionally more by people who like to fib about their age. As you blow out the forty-one candles on your birthday cake we hope you will be able to reflect on a year as fortunate, fruitful, frisky and otherwise fsomething as any highly successful author and literary representative can hope for.
This is a day on which, forbearing the prospect of receiving forty-one birthday bumps from caring and somewhat over-exuberant friends, you should be without any of the concerns you have no doubt accumulated over each of the years leading up to this birthday. Thinking of reasons to be concerned should, for now, be left to less fortunate, birthdayless folk.
Folk such as your adoring fans. We thought of forty-one.
~41 Reasons To Be Concerned~
Katy Perry is releasing her next album this year. You should be very concerned. ~Tragedy
You may have to start copyrighting Esmé Squalor's outfits, in case Lady Gaga runs out of ideas. You should be very concerned. ~Bryan
General Mills introduced "Cheerios" in 1941. Unfortunately, I don't know how "cheery" your birthday will be. You should be very concerned. ~Bryan
Some of the people submitting these are possibly imposters trying to get ahold of you, or discover your current residence. You should be very concerned. ~Tiago Squalor
Your name is comprised of the same number of letters as the amount of books in your unfortunately beguiling series. Rather than change your name, it would be wise to remain very concerned. ~Emma “Emmz” Squalor
Forty-one is the thirteenth prime number, and therefore the least fortunate. You should be increasingly concerned. ~Dante
Perhaps you should be careful while staying at the 41st floor of a building, as someone might be there who would like to interrogate you. You should be very concerned. ~blakegriplingph
+41 is the international dialing code for Switzerland. Thus, it's possible you will receive 41 calls from people you don't know in Switzerland. You should be very concerned. ~Violet Marie
A Series of Unfortunate Events has been translated into forty-one languages, making it even harder to avoid reading. You should be very concerned. ~Dante
13 + 9 + 6 + 4 + 2 + 7 = 41 Page 41 of Book the Thirteenth concerns threats Page 41 of Book the Ninth concerns disguises Page 41 of Book the Sixth concerns disappointment Page 41 of Book the Fourth concerns deprivation Page 41 of Book the Second concerns villains Page 41 of Book the Seventh concerns depressing restrictions You should be very concerned. ~Lemona Snicket
The new Snicket series is coming out in 2012. The world is allegedly ending in 2012. We all should be very concerned. ~Tiago Squalor
It's been seven years and we still don't have a film sequel. As Miss. Browning said in the trailer, we're very concerned. ~LSWannabe
According to R. Allendy, "it is the principle of the individuality, 1, appearing in cosmic mutations, 40. It is the individuality of the being incarnated in the physical life (...). It is the reverse of 14, it shows the principle of the periodic mutations in the cosmic individuality. In the 14, the cycle is in the individual; in 41, the individual is in the cycle". Whatever that means is up for debate. You should be very concerned. ~Tiago Squalor
Your birthday is the Feast Day of St. Hilarius. You should be very concerned. ~nominatissima
1941 was the year Hideki Tojo became the Prime Minister of Japan. You should be very concerned. ~nominatissima
1941 was the year the Kingdom of Yugoslavia joined the Axis Powers in World War II, and the year of the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor. That was clearly not a good year. You should be very concerned. ~Tiago Squalor
But then again, it was the year Bob Dylan was born. That is, if you like Bob Dylan. If not, you should be very concerned. ~Tiago Squalor
The 41st Academy Awards were presented April 14, 1969 at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion, Los Angeles. It was the first Academy Awards ceremony broadcast worldwide. There was no host. This was very concerning. ~Tiago Squalor
At the 41st Academy Awards, as the special effects director and designer for 2001: A Space Odyssey, Stanley Kubrick was the recipient of the Academy Award for Best Visual Effects this year. It was the only Oscar he would ever win. He must have been very concerned. ~Tiago Squalor
Borders has filed for bankruptcy, and a bunch of stores are closing. You should probably be concerned. ~Songbird
The E-reader is rapidly overtaking the traditional print book as a means of reading, meaning millions of reading folk will never again smell the pages of a book. You may have reason to be concerned. ~nominatissima
Forty one is the atomic number of the element 'niobium'. It is a very toxic element. You should be very concerned. ~Tiago Squalor
Jane Austen died when she was forty-one, although not immediately. I hope you aren’t concerned. ~Dante
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's forty-first symphony was destined to be his last. You should be very concerned. ~Dante
The philosopher Henri Bergson died in, of all the many years he could have, 1941. You should continue to be concerned. ~Dante
George H. W. Bush was the 41st president. He did not get elected for a second term, though his son did. You should be very concerned about what this might imply for your family. ~Antenora
On a related note, next year is an election year. You should be very concerned, though not for your own re-election. ~Antenora
Next year is also allegedly when the world will end. If it doesn't, there will still exist many things to be very concerned about. ~Antenora
Scientists predict that the Sun will soon throw a deadly solar flare at Earth. This may knock out all electronic communications, forcing people to rely on carrier pigeons if we don't end up eating them all. You should be very concerned, unless you like the taste of pigeon. ~Antenora
Other scientists predict that California will face a gigantic flood. Noah's flood lasted for 40 days; this one might last one day longer. If these scientists are wrong and there is a lengthy drought instead, you should still be very concerned. ~Antenora
Your home is located in one of the most earthquake-prone cities in the country. You should be very concerned. ~Tragedy
America's sovereign debt is approaching 100% of GDP, and your son's generation will have to foot the bill. You may be financially concerned. ~Tragedy
You share a birthday with the mistress of Benito Mussolini. Your wife should be very concerned. ~Sixteen

There are a group of people conferring together and compiling a list of 41 things which are likely to cause worry or danger to you. To make things worse, they consider this list a suitable gift for a man already beset by sadness and tragedy. You should be very concerned. ~BSam
~~~
Reasons to be concerned such as the forty-one above should absolutely not cross your mind at all today. But if any of them should, somehow, come to your attention, think of this silver lining to that dark cloud:
There are only forty-one. Next year there might be forty-two.
Cool.
One thing though. The Katy Perry thing was just an example. I don't think there's an official release date for her next album. You could change it to "may release her next album this year" I guess.
lol
Anyway, looks great! I wanted to add something totally comedic and not related to the whole thing all together, which is, "Butterflies were originally known as flutterbies. You should be very concerned." (But I'm not sure how true this fact is - I read it in this trivia book thingy, but Google found nothing...oh wells).
So when are we sending this?
Cool. One thing though. The Katy Perry thing was just an example. I don't think there's an official release date for her next album. You could change it to "may release her next album this year" I guess. I did wonder if it was meant to be a real submission, although I think it numbers well among the more light-hearted, pop culture entries (see the Lady Gaga one). I'll change the wording, but I'm keeping it in. i think we should compile a list of fans who wish him happy birthday and add personal message on one big e-card. As noted, that's sort of what we did, but I recognise your willingness to contribute, stephanie18soccer, and I'll add you to the signatories. lol Anyway, looks great! I wanted to add something totally comedic and not related to the whole thing all together, which is, "Butterflies were originally known as flutterbies. You should be very concerned." (But I'm not sure how true this fact is - I read it in this trivia book thingy, but Google found nothing...oh wells). So when are we sending this? Again, that would've been a good one, since not all the reasons are ultra-serious; shame you couldn't prove it, though. I imagine we'll be sending this on the 27th or the 28th. I'll be asking blakegriplingph to image-ify it soon, since there don't appear to be any more last-minute adjustments to make.
