Not only do they have nothing in common, their ideals are completely opposed to one another. Carmelita talks about dancing on the graves of volunteers. Her personality is that of a child. What possible redeeming value could Klaus find in her, what attraction? She bullied him.

For me, it depends on what age they are (which is why I voted for "Well...maybe", even though I'm more of a supporter of Carmelita/Nero and Klaus/Fiona). If they're the ages they are in the book, then I've got to side with Dante on this one. I believe Carmelita would have to do something to prove herself before Klaus or any noble volunteer even considered being attracted to her. Being a victim of bullying myself, there was not one time in which I was ever attracted to any of my tormentors. Yet, since she is still a child, I've always believed Carmelita to have the ability to improve as she got older, even though that would depend largely on those she chose to surround herself with. For example, if Esme reformed (I realize the possibility of that ever occurring in canon is like one in a million; I'm just using it as an example), then I think the odds of Carmelita doing so are far more likely than they would be if she was to attempt it on her own.

But Carmelita's age in canon is unknown.

Although we may reasonably presume, as with the Quagmires, that she is within a year of either of the Baudelaires' ages. Not that she shows it, but they're quite old for their age.

If Carmelita is younger than Klaus, so would Carmelita/Nero work?
