Nearly in the end of The End Lemony tells us that much possibly Ink had her own Unfortunate Events as she left the island to help the islanders. I would very much like to read a sequel about Ink, it could be very interesting. And maybe not one where it's the protagonist but plays a huge part in it. Or maybe it could be the protagonist, but a dumb protagonist. We don't know what it thinks and she doesn't speak, the people around it do all the talking and it's managed by others, doesn't own its own destiny. Discuss.

Wow. I've never thought of this before, but I agree that it would be a splendid idea. I would definitely read the story in question if someone were to write it.

Who says Ink is a girl? I always assumed that he was a boy. Anyway, a spin-off story with Ink would most definitely be intriguing. I never really thought about it. Like at all!

I'm pretty sure Lemony calls Ink a "she" in TE. You'll have to double check, but it seems like I recall that. It seems like Monty did the same thing. Like I said, though, I'm not sure.

Yeah, I think so too but I didn't wan't to call it a 'she' to avoid this kind of discussions, I was controling myself but I guess I just let myself go in that one .

The Incredibly Deadly Viper is only ever referred to as an "it" in The End. The idea about its past, though, is a fascinating idea--I picture the entire history of V.F.D., told through the eyes of the snake. Or, perhaps more favorably, various stories strung together by Ink's presence.

Yes, that's what I meant by Ink playing a part in the stories. It'd be awesome. Someone should write a fanfic about this!

It'd be a pretty bold move to write a literary work with a protagonist who isn't even human - but, I think, one worth making. Ink could be the link (as it were) between a whole other series of events that we can only piece together through its involvement. If you wrote it as a series of short stories, it might not even be clear at first that Ink is the constant factor, that the story is really about Ink, but eventually it would become apparent.
