For those not familiar, Q is a Canadian programme hosted by Jian Ghomeshi, one of my favourite celebrities and Canadian television personalities. Tomorrow he is going to have Daniel Handler on as a guest to talk about The Basic Eight. If you're not Canadian or you lack a television, you can watch it on your computer by going to the CBC's website, here: www.cbc.ca/q/video/Enjoy!

How exciting! That's tomorrow, then? I can't seem to find any information concerning this on that website, but it's certainly something to look forward to.

It was first announced on Jian Ghomeshi's Twitter (which he runs himself) today, so I assume tomorrow.

Sorry to double post, but I have to say, it was hilarious! Jian Ghomeshi was so enamoured with Mr. Handler, he asked him to come on the show every day, and asked him if he could rub his face against his beard. (It makes sense in context, I promise)

Thanks for the review. Daniel Handler does seem to be quite good at getting along with people; quite charming. It's partly because he's genuinely an extremely funny person.

He also got a very interesting slot on the program: It was the day after the Canadian election, and it had been quite the topsy-turvy one, and Handler, being an American, was surrounded by all this chatter about the election, and he delivered what Mr. Ghomeshi thought was the most cogent commentary on the whole thing when they talked about how scary things can be funny and vice versa: "Your election for instance, for now, there are people who are very scared, and they'll be laughing as history progresses, and who knows, there may be people laughing now who will be very scared in time." He also called our Prime Minister "the Huey Lewis of Canadian politics." It was a delightful program. I think Mr. Ghomeshi actually developed a little crush on him by the end of it, and was very sad at the program ending and him leaving the studio.
