- - - - - Dear Reader If you have bravely faced all the books before THE TRAGIC TRAIN, you should either finally give up and reading something less tragic, or continue on reading these series of unfortunate events, knowing that the journey is almost over, and this is the penultimate in these series of tragedy and misfortune, as the Baudelaires board the Ethereal Express, bound north with nothing but woe and tragedy laid ahead in their tracks. By no means should you dare to travel within this book, which includes the return of several volunteers and villains, twelve signs, a lonely playwright and her brothers, dangerous cargo, suspicious and ambiguous conversations, thirteen uniquely decorated train cars, and the conclusion of plan set in motion long ago. If this book were a train it would be best if you left it before it departed, as the voyage contained within these pages can only lead to tragedy and nothing else. With all due respect, Tiago Squalor

This is one train I don't want to miss. How rare to be eagerly awaiting its arrival, rather than hurrying not to miss it.

I second Colette's congratulations! I've really enjoyed my journey through the world of Yet Another Series of Unfortunate Events, Tiago. Naturally, I'm excited to see what kinds of things - and people - we'll encounter aboard the Ethereal Express. I am particularly intrigued by the mention of the 'lonely playwright and her brothers'. Are they characters we've met before, or new additions to the series? I wonder...

The playwright is a new character, and so are her brothers. ^^

THE DAILY PUNCTILIO All the news in fits of prints The Ethereal Express : A Voyage Among Stars! A picture of the Ethereal Express at a small train station in a town somewhere. by Geraldine Julienne Tonight at midnight and one minute departs from Tenenbaum Train Station the famed Ethereal Express, bound north to the snowy city of U%@&@(#. The passengers of this luxurious train will gaze at the lovely panoramas of the countryside as they go north, as the end of autumn draws near. Each car of this very in train is emblazoned with an astrological sign according to what car they are on. Passengers sleep in the cabins of the Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo cars, with the rest serving as a library (Libra), the kitchen (Taurus), the cargo hold (Aries) and many more! However this voyage is not for everyone, as the entire train has been booked in full! We wonder what sort of exciting things will happen aboard the Ethereal Express as it travels north to the north of C@¨&*$(@! It will be astrologically unforgettable!

I wonder if Sir was born in this town, since they both have incomprehensible names. Is the Zodiac motif a bit of Homestuck shining through, Tiago? You could theme each chapter after an astrological sign! (Plus Ophiuchus.) Each sign has been interpreted as meaning so many different things that you could just claim you'd done it and nobody would know if you were lying.

Oh my, on the twelfth installment already! The Dear Reader is painfully intriguing, as always, and the article by Geraldine is suitable (an extension of the UA's "Bus Departs Late" transportation trend?) I'm very excited for this volume; the setting has much potential, and I'm interested to see what you make of it. Star signs ... I'll have to relocate that astrologically-based thread you created, as it seems we'll be seeing more of that.

@dante: The town's name is not incomprehensible, it was just another Punctilio ink blotch concealing an important location's name for the time being, until it can be revealed. The town in question is going to be important in the Baudelaire case as well as the next case. Anyways, thanks, Dante, for the feedback. ^^
@sherrry Ann: Thank you, Sherry Ann. I'm glad to hear you're excited about TTT, as am I.

The idea to name each car inside the Ethereal Express is a most imaginative idea! Let's see...that means there will be twelve cars in all... Will there be a bonus thirteenth? If so, what will its name be, and what will it contain? Something sinister? *shivers*
I liked the addition of the classic Punctilio ink blot as well (even though it frustrated me in LSTUA, since it prevented us from learning Esme's maiden name. Which doesn't matter, I suppose, since I've been referring to her as 'Salinger' for the longest time now ;D).

This series just can't drop in quality, can it? I also noticed that the locomotive of the Ethereal Express is an LMS Black 5 (which some of you may recognise as the class of locomotive that Henry from Thomas the Tank Engine is a member of).
