Don't forget - Next week is 667's Tenth Anniversary Celebration! For your convenience, here is the full schedule of events we have planned:

Monday, June 18th - Seven week-long contests will begin:
-A Vernacularly Fastened Door game - Headed by Willis
-A new skin designing contest - Headed by Cybermystery
-An ATWQ Wildest Speculation contest Headed by Sherry Ann
-Weird Ships Week - Headed by Lemona Snicket
-An ASOUE cover design contest - Headed by F.D.
-An LSUA/ASOUE map contest - Headed by Cybermystery, and
-A trivia contest - Headed by Hermes
The "Where are they now?" gallery will be posted. We will also we having a theme day: come as your favorite ASOUE character.

Tuesday, June 18th - A special anniversary edition of The 667er will be posted. Today's theme day is "impersonate a 667er"; copy the profile and/or mannerisms of another 667er.

Wednesday, June 20th - A special 10-year timeline of the notable events of 667 will be posted. Today's theme day is favorite authors; come as your favorite author.

Thursday June 21st - Today's theme day is Volunteer Day; act like a member of VFD.

Friday, June 22nd - If you can only come on one day, come today. Today is 667's Tenth Anniversary, and we will be having a ball - literally! The theme day is "come as yourself". If you were planning on entering a contest, make sure your entry is complete - all entries are due by 11:59 pm EST (GMT -5) tonight.

Saturday, June 23rd - Contest judging will take place today. Today's theme day is Animal Day; come as your favorite animal.

Sunday, June 24th - The contest awards will be given out today. This is also the final day of celebrations. Today's theme day is Musical Artist Day; come as your favorite musical artist.

It sounds really great. The showcase of memorable events is a great idea. It seems that there were many competitions here, in the earlier days, so maybe we can repeat some of them. We could make this an event, to last days. Maybe we could also show how far has 667 Dark Avenue gone since its first days.

I think that ProBoards has an "E-mail all" function that you can use to contact the e-mail addresses of every single registered member, and I think it's been used before for just such a purpose, that of contacting old members for a fantastic anniversary or event of some kind. So we could well use that, I think.

Other events... fanart, fanfiction, games? A celebratory (temporary) new skin for the site? Those would be popular. I like your idea for personal testimonies, Linda, if we can get them; it should indeed be a time for looking back on 667's history, and the idea of showcasing past events would tie into that; we can probably dig up some highlights (or maybe just lowlights) on the old wikis.

A salient point, BSam. I'm sure that the collocation of 667's tenth anniversary with Tragedy's could yield a number of potential ironic motifs; "667's greatest tragedy," "the birth of tragedy," etc.

Trivia, contests, prizes? I think it's an excellent idea. (Not sure if the "e-mail all" function would be appropriate, however, given the 4,000 or so members with no posts whatsoever - unless there's a way to filter those out?).

I don't think it would matter much sending an e-mail to the zero posters; they'll probably just keep ignoring 667. One thing, though, is that several old members have deleted their accounts. Dupin and Jemima spring to mind right now. It might be bit more difficult tracking them down.

Apparently there's a Facebook group of which several old members are members. I'm not sure how successful it's been in the past, but it could be something to look into, if you haven't already.

There's a point, actually. By the time the anniversary comes along, with any luck we'll actually know something about the new series, and can involve that somehow.

I'm going to bump this thread since June 22nd is 74 days away. I think a good thing to start with is to make a "guest list" of all the people we can think of throughout 667's history. It'll take old people, new people, and in-between people to help compile the list, as no one knows everyone that is/was at 667. Once the list is compiled we can make an invitation, telling them of the date, what activities are planned, and asking them to RSVP and write a paragraph or two about what they've been up to. I think it'd be fun to make the invitation a graphic that looks like a paper party invitation.

I've put the names of a few people on the first post; post here to add more and I'll add them to the list.

Edit: I realized it's probably easier to just e-mail all the members. However, if you know of anyone that has deleted their account, we need to make a list of them. Also, for the older members who haven't been here in years, they may have changed their e-mail addresses.
