A book cover illustrated by Edward Gorey, that reminded by of the Bombinating Beast quite a bit:

Yesterday in the subway, I saw a man wearing a badge with "S+Surname+Name" written on it...
What does the S stand for ?

Subway
I feel like I am becoming more like S. Theodora Markson every day. I have this friend who is often asking the wrong questions and each time I have had to remind him of his place

Subway I feel like I am becoming more like S. Theodora Markson every day. I have this friend who is often asking the wrong questions and each time I have had to remind him of his place *sigh* alright, then. This kind of tenacity does need some kind of acknowledgement. So, are you channeling Sherlock Holmes?

No im not
here is part of a txt message I sent him.
I know you think that the way I work isn't fair - others will too, but I really am only thinking of you and same with anyone else.
Basically, I was talking about the whole thing where you choose not to tell people the whole picture, because you care about them and only want them to be safe. I myself find people have a curious nature and if told about something, will go to find it for themselves, not taking my word for it. I know that one or more characters have said something like this to other characters.

I was at a lecture today about negations in Warrwa, an Aboriginal Australian language. One of these - I think it was 'barli' - could be used in many different situations, and one of its meanings was 'That's the wrong question'.

A few weeks back I watched a movie called The Man Who Knew Infinity. The main character was named S. Ramanujan, and one of the characters asked what the S stood for.

The other day, a facebook friend of mine shared a video with the title 'What does the S stand for?'. Turns out it stood for Innovation or some word with roughly the same connotations.

I'm reading a book in which a character is told that he is asking the wrong question, the wrong question being "Do you know what love is?". Apparently, the question he should have been asking is why the Mouse Council wants to see him. If only young Lemony had thought to ask the same!
(The book, 'The Tale of Despereaux' by Kate DiCamillo, is incidentally written in a quite Snickety style)

It’s Lemony! No idea why he’s around wherever-this-is in 1927, though. Jk, it’s from the new Fantastic Beasts- Crimes of Grindelwald trailer- but this could totally be Lemony! He has the cap. And it’s even covering his eyes!

This morning I was looking up ebooks on my library's catalog, and I looked up "Why is this night different from all other nights?" Another book came up, and it was something about four Jewish questions.
I'm guessing most people on here have already made this connection.
