It's quite an interesting read. I never knew that Helquist had been a Mormon missionary, but there are also quite a few notes in here about ASoUE - how he got the job, what sort of work schedule the illustrations demanded, how ASoUE was contracted (we knew Handler's original contract was for four books, but now we find that he ended up with three contracts: Four books, a further four books, and then the final five). Oh yeah, I read that one just like a month ago, but I didn't think to post it here 'cos I thought someone already must've as it's from 2010. But it really is an interesting read. And quite inspiring how stripped down Helquist's approach to illustrating actually is.

Nice. The stuff about Snicket is interesting, but so too is Helquist's career as an illustrator. I was surprised to find the black and white drawings were finished so quickly, two or three days, which I suppose is a long while but not nearly as long as I was imagining.
