Note: If you can't view the above image, how about this one? HarperCollins taking any opportunity they can to ride on ATWQ's coattails, I see. It's awkward seeing such products of the publisher switch - a promo for ASoUE apparently written by Snicket himself coming out the day the first volume of ATWQ comes out but managing to avoid mentioning it entirely...

Yes, that's interesting. But it's clever to do something like this now because now that WCTBATH is out new younger readers will be interested in Lemony Snicket.
Where did you see this?

I totally agree that it's the right time for the pitch; no better time, really. Snicket's been rising to prominence again all year and HarperCollins have been doing everything they can to take advantage of that, since to a certain extent the publicity is being generated for them for free. It maks sense. And today makes more sense than any other day. As for where I saw it, it's an AuthorTracker e-mail from HarperCollins. You should be able to sign up for it... ah, here (and probably under broader specifications on other HarperCollins sites).

Good for HC, though I find "Fall" a rather flimsy premise for promoting a book that's been out six years.

It's more of a flimsy excuse for promoting appropriating the day WCTBATH comes out. Still, at least I'm pretty sure Handler himself wrote it.

The official Facebook page also made another post "announcing" TBB being free online, though the link they provided doesn't actually seem to point to the book itself, just a promo page linking to it for sale on various sites. No mention of ATWQ, obviously.

At least Egmont doesn't have this problem.
