-I'm on my mid-term break this week. -Halloween wasn't too exciting for me. -I think it's because I'm too old. -I much preferred it when I was younger. -But it's just not fun any more. - Hehe.-That was random.

-My day today's been fairly interesting. -We did barely any work in Government. -Mostly we just read through a large booklet about our electoral system, and then had a discussion. -Some of the information was pretty interesting. -Such as those things I can't remember now. -And in my extra English lessons, we're still going over this one poem. -The Eve of St. Agnes, by Keats. -Some people mentioned that it was meant to be romantic, but it has some rather creepy connotations. -And then we talked about nursery rhmyes and children's TV when our second teacher was late. -All in all, I haven't had a boring day. -But I expected to. -It's dark already. -Crazy time changes. -Although the shape and arrangement of the clouds right now is pretty interesting. -Also, the cold which I thought I was getting a few days ago appears to have gone. -Hooray. -Er, sorry, SnicketFace. -You seem pretty badly ill. -I hope you recover soon. -I regarded Halloween as being pretty much like every other day. -And in many ways - nearly all, in fact - it was. -Oh, David Blunkett. -You've resigned again. -Will you never learn? -I'm actually quite interested in the news each day. -Recently, there seems to have been stuff happening all the time.

-Also, the cold which I thought I was getting a few days ago appears to have gone. -Hooray. -Er, sorry, SnicketFace. -You seem pretty badly ill. -I hope you recover soon. -Heh... thanks Dante. -I am pretty sick, but nothing unusual for me, I'm usually sick throughout all of winter -I have a bit of a headache now. -Still coughing and all that jazz. -My mom said I could stay home from school today, but I opted to go, as I would have to miss youth group if I missed school. -Which would mean I would miss seeing Andrew, and going out with my friends. -Which means I wouldn't see Andrew until I get back from vaca on the 13th. -Which would suck horribly. -I have some Algebra II homework to do before I got to youth group and applebees. -I also have to clean up the bathroom. -Meh.... -I had Dupin make something for me, and it turned out wicked sweet, and love him for making it for me -I gave him two pictures and asked him to lighten one of them, and fade the other into it. -I guess I could just show it to you -Pretty sweet aye? -Much better than what I could have ever done. -My head...

-I think I might have a cold, or maybe I'm just allergic to something in the air. -That Rock-Paper-Scissors game is neat. -A while ago I linked a site that had complex RPS variants, with up to 25 gestures, including "dragon", "tree", and "alien". -There should be a way to play those more complex RPS games online. -Not much happened at school today. -I finished the program I've been working on in Visual Basic. -It's a simulation of rolling two dice. -After I'd done a lot of coding, I ran the program several times and found that I'd made a silly mistake that messed up the results. -Fortunately, it was easy to fix. -I haven't seen what I got on my Government quiz from last week. -I don't think I want to know. -Earlier, I took a Dirk Gently character quiz: selectsmart.com/FREE/select.php?client=dirkgently-I'm apparently Dirk Gently.

-Fun fun fun, this is my 1200th post. -It's not a really special number, I guess. -But I like excuses to throw e-confetti. -*throws confetti* -Yay. -But I should go to bed now. -I need to change my sig and avatar. -They've been like this for a while. -Hmm... -*strokes chin thoughtfully*

-I'm checking neat laws on Wikipedia -"Pascal's Wager" is really cool -It states that it is a better "bet" to beleive in god, because if he exists, you go to heaven, and if he doesn't, you just dissapear, while if you don't believe in him, you either go to hell or don't exist -Hehe en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pascal%27s_Wager-Heh, Godwin's law: "As an online discussion grows longer, the probability of a comparison involving Nazis or Hitler approaches 1." -Good stuff -Wilcox-McCandilsh's law of online discourse evolution en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wilcox-McCandlish_law_of_online_discourse_evolution-Classic -Jick's law "In the real world, it's possible to randomly punch strangers in the stomach. What stops us from doing this? The fact that we're not assholes, that's what." en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Adages-Great site -Most laws seem to involve the internet, though.... Edit: The laws of infernal dynamics are an adage about the cursedness of the universe. The laws are as follows: 1. An object in motion will be moving in the wrong direction. 2. An object at rest will be in the wrong place. 3. The energy required to move an object in the correct direction, or put it in the right place, will be more than you wish to expend but not so much as to make the task impossible.

-I'm also Dirk Gently. -My time here is short. -I'm at home this lunchtime because my various appointments today took up until pretty much the end of third lesson, so there would have been no point in going to school. -Obviously, I have to go in for fourth lesson, though. -Those laws are cool, PJ. -Although I disagree with Pascal's Wager, as I rather think God's smarter than to let people into Heaven who only believe in Him so that they'll go to Heaven. -And the bet would not apply to people who believe in Him for other reasons. -Therefore, with Pascal's Wager, if you're basing your belief solely on a desire to go to Heaven, then you either vanish or go to Hell - which is the same for if you don't believe in God. -Anyway, my morning's been fairly dull. -I read more of The Secret Agent, and I'm about half-way through. -I've finished all I can do of my Economics homework. -And somehow I've still managed to get huge pencil stains on the side of my hand. -Well, they'll wash off easily enough. -Well, I can't think of much more to say, as I'm in a hurry. -Except to say that I'm in a hurry. -I'll have to start getting ready for school in a few minutes, you see, and I am quite paranoid about time. -But anyway, I should be back in less than two hours.

-I've heard of Pascal's Wager. -It was mentioned in one of my books of paradoxes and logic problems. -That book raised an interesting point: There are several religions that say you'll go to Heaven if you follow them. -Therefore, should you join as many religions as you can to increase your chances of salvation? -I think that if you did that, any and all gods would be pretty unhappy with you, because they'd know how selfish you were. -The Online Discourse law is interesting, too. -I vaguely recall reading something like that someplace, stating that any thread relating to religion or politics will eventually turn into a flamewar over the existance of God. -That applies to a fair amount of DD threads. -I got the photos I took with Grandfather's camera. -Mother got them developed at One Hour Photo, so we could see if the camera was working properly. -The camera works, but I definitely need more practice with it. -Probably the best photo: -I took some other photos of various lights, but they didn't come out as well. -The other photos I took were mostly blurry, or just not very interesting.

-Well, I'm back. -I couldn't find anyone to steal Economics notes from, but I'm sure I'll be able to manage that at some future point. -Besides, I have English homework. -I have to do some deep analysis of a passage comparing life to the theatre. -I've already quoted Shakespeare at the top of it, and I may compare something to the famous unfathomable question in Native Sonl by Richard Wright. -I've never read the book, and probably never will, but that doesn't mean I can't allude to it. -Antenora, you have such cool stuff. -I wish I owned such a thing. -It's raining here. -It's really been very dreary all day. -The grandfather clock just struck three. -Its striking sounds more like a Ting! than a Wrong!, unfortunately. -Still, it can't be helped. -It's a nice clock. -Heh, I like the law of conservation of misery. -Well, I don't really like it, if you see what I mean. -Hm, I've just had an interesting idea. -One so rarely finds the opportunities to put the more interesting of ideas into effect, sadly. -But I'm rambling again. -I'd best start on this homework.

-I looked at that site that PJ ranted about in the 667er. -Those people have big egos. -And the admin makes a lot of spelling errors. -What exactly was it that PJ did to make them so angry, anyway? -They must have deleted everything having to do with the disagreement. -I got bored with that site and started visiting links to other proboards forums. -One was called "admin's retreat". -They didn't let anyone join unless they were admins of a proboard and submitted an application, including a link to their proboard. -I have a small proboard that I mess around with occasionally, so I decided to join for fun. -After I filled out the application, this rather arrogant member pointed out that I have a thread in there where a couple people wrote things in spanish. -She said if I didn't delete the thread immediately and put up a warning not to speak any languages other than english, they'd delete my link and ban me. -Whoa. -I definitely hadn't meant to make anyone so angry. -So I deleted my post, then deleted my account. -Hmm, now they're talking about what an idiot I am. -Some people you just have to wonder about.

-Akbar, don't leave. -We still like you. -There's just very little opportunity to say so. -I believe that it's in the ToS that a ProBoard has to be entirely in English, including anything anyone posts. -Which seems to me to be maddeningly restrictive. -You're right - some people you do just have to wonder about. -Anyway, I finished my English homework ages ago. -And I've just had dinner. -And now I'm eating a muffin. -The mouse feels greasy. -Having to share a computer is irritating, because they all apparently have greasy fingers. -I've finished the muffin. -It's taking me a while to write this, as I don't have too much to say. -Very little seems to happen to me at all these days. -Less than ever did before. -Anyway, I've got some reading to do.

-Please don't leave, Akbar. -We'd miss you. -You should post more. -The computers at my school all seem to have greasy keys, and sometimes the mice are rather sticky. -I remember reading a discussion at Proboards support about the language issue. -Apparently, someone's forum was going to be deleted because members were posting in Japanese. -I wonder just why the Proboards TOS states you have to post in English only. -There's probably a good reason for that someplace, but I can't even guess at what it might be. -Today our schedule was all messed up, because there was a rally. -I got confused because it was different from the normal rally schedule. -Right now, it's techinically lunch break, and I just left my third period class. -Fourth period starts after lunch ends. -I'm in my fourth period class, Visual Basic. -I had a Spanish quiz earlier, but not much happened other than that.
