bookboxdaily.scholastic.com/2013/01/02/lemony-snicket-giveaway/ This is accompanied by a give-away of five signed copies of Who Could The Be at This Hour? The particularly interesting things is the link on that page, directing here upon where it prompts you to enter your email address to sign up to receive a notification on or before January 16th, 7pm (EST). The site itself doesn't give too much information other than the following: ]In less than two weeks, we will be chatting live with the one and only Lemony Snicket, where he will be taking questions from you!

I signed up to receive a reminder three hours beforehand. Then I realised the chat was happening, in my time zone, at midnight. Oh well, at least the reminder should come in time for me to make this thread an Announcement so other people can hopefully enjoy it.

Oh, that's 1pm for me. Why do the interesting things always happen at night for my timezone?

Midnight is okay-ish for me. I'll try and transcribe for anyone unable to attend.

I think I'll participate anyway. Timezones can't keep me away.

I'll definitely be able to attend this. If anyone unable to access the website at that time wants to PM me with comments, then I'll add them to my list (though I'm not quite sure how this is going to work - as Bee says, the site doesn't give much information on how it will run).
Edit: Yes it does, under the "Reader Information" icon from the reminder page:
There's nothing to do during a Live Event other than read, watch and occasionally send in a comment or vote in the polling questions. It's not a chatroom. You go to largely find out what the writer has to say. An open chat with thirty or more readers turns into poor, disjointed content very quickly. Your comments are published at the Writer's discretion. The Writer can view all comments sent to them but only they can publish your comments for everyone to see. Our 'autoscroll' feature ensures you're always shown the newest content without having to refresh or scroll your screen. You can turn this on or off by using the controls at the bottom of the Viewer Window. Subtle sound effects alert you to new content as the writer publishes it. This can also be turned on or off as needed. If you see a "Click for Live Updates" button, this means that the event owner has selected to turn off the event Title Page. Please click this button (once) in order to view the latest event updates.

Awesome. Midnight or not, I'll stick around for this.

I have just spent five minutes on this, be grateful. It is on January 17th at 7am, in Central Java (WIT). I may be wrong, but I doubt it. So there. Normally I would have linked to LMGTFY, but this was too complex. So there.

What time is it for you right now? I can extrapolate the time of the meeting from the timestamp on your post.
Edit: Or Charlie Snicket can oblige; fine work.

For any Australians, this is on 17th January, 10am (AEST, non inclusive DS), 9:30am (ACST, non inclusive DS), or 8am (AWST, non inclusive DS). I can't be arsed to figure out Daylight Savings.

Is this happening in two and a half hours, or am I wrong?

You're right. I still don't know if I will stay awake for this. Probably I'll keep thinking about it and then it's suddenly 1am and I'm still awake.

Okay, thanks. Because strangely enough, I didn't get that reminder email from the Facebook page. And if you want to, you can PM me your questions and I can ask them for you.

How strange. My reminder never arrived. Thankfully someone posted here, then! Yes, it appears that the event will begin sometime in the next two hours. I'm not sure where, though; I hoped the e-mail alert would provide a link.
