NYDailyNews, in an otherwise rather behind-the-times article (Snicket "gave up" on alliteration over six years ago...), has highlighted the fact that Snicket's upcoming April book The Dark has a book trailer available. You can view it here:

Oooh!
I wonder what is the name of the music playing in the background.

We get a bit more detailed preview of the illustrations, at least - from what's available, I'm optimistic about the Klassen-Snicket match.
Why, exactly?

The '"Hello," said the dark' part was pretty creepy and cool. Looking forward to the book.

I think I'll take my ten year old sister along when I buy this, so it looks like I have a valid reason

I think I'll take my ten year old sister along when I buy this, so it looks like I have a valid reason I think I might have to invest in a sack of flour and some rope... and go in the middle of the night.

The Vancouver Sun has a review of The Dark here. Sounds positive!

I'm stupid, I thought something like "What does Charlie want with that flour? How does it help him get the book? I have to buy it online anyway. I'm not even sure if that's possible.

The Vancouver Sun has a review of The Dark here. Sounds positive! I think, given the storyline, we can expect a lot from Snicket's tone. This isn't the first review to describe the narration as "parental and protective," which we've only seen hints of in earlier picture books.
