I just discovered, on Amazon, that Lemony Snicket will have the Introduction written to the upcoming The Complete Peanuts Vol. 20. It's due out on September 20th. Apparently this volume features a dog named "Olaf." Also, as you might have guessed from the cover, additional art for the collected series is being done by - yep, Seth.

Wow, that's amazing. Two of my favourite things! Also, coincedentally, I got the 12th edition of this from the library yesterday.

We might get to preview the introduction earlier, even, depending on if the "Browse Inside" feature is made available. I'm curious on what exactly Snicket plans to comment on.

Charlie Brown kicks butt. And a dog named Olaf?

As I recall from my childhood, Olaf is the fat brother of Snoopy that always looks like he's about to have a heart attack.

He played the jugs if I remember correctly. It should turn out to be a long intro, if it is the same length as in the edition I am currently holding. This one is about 5 single pages

Hah, I've been following this re-issue series for about a year now, and I think Seth has been doing a splendid job. Peanuts and Charles M. Schulz are awesome. Although Lemony Snicket writing an introduction I find slightly odd. I guess the two have the underlying depressive themes in common. I'm sure it'll make an interesting read!

If we have trouble accessing the Introduction on Browse Inside, Terry Craig, perhaps you could transcribe it for us when you come by the book. As for this as another Snicket-Seth collaboration, I wonder if Seth was the one who introduced Snicket to the people in charge of the project? It doesn't seem like a coincidence that not so long after they start working together, they suddenly appear in conjunction somewhere else as well.
