Could it be possible for Count Olaf to have had siblings at some point? Could he, just like the powdered white faced women (Hinted), the Baudelaires, the Quagmires and the Snickets be part of a larger family? If he did, could they too have been murdered by the Baudelaire parents, just like Olaf's mother and father? (I doubt this - I can't see the Baudelaire parents murdering children). Thoughts?

It was, for a time, speculated that the man with a beard but no hair and the woman with hair but no beard were Olaf's elder siblings. There's no positive evidence for it, but it seemed satisfying in some ways - having this kind of dark parallel to the comradely and supportive siblings we see elsewhere, with the elders having this cruel sway over their youngest brother. But in truth we know absolutely nothing, canonically, about Olaf having any siblings or not, so it's all speculation (unless ATWQ throws a spanner in the works, but again, pure speculation).

The family tree in TUA seems to indicate a family of three siblings, M, N and O, of whom O might well be Olaf, though many people now think it is Olivia. That the sinister duo are his siblings has some plausibility - though if the woman had an infant servant before the schism, at which time it seems likely Olaf was a child, they must be quite a bit older than him. But of course well-spaced families are a feature of VFD.
I have always suspected that the Baudelaires' killing of Olaf's parents was accidental (which would fit La Forza del Destino, and indeed TPP itself). But in any case it looks as if O was an adult when his parents died (since Violet and Klaus were already around), so you don't need to worry about killing children.

In my ficverse, Olaf did have a younger brother named Livius, but he died when he was a year old as a result of his haemophilia. Seeing as it's not exactly canon, it doesn't count. Oh, well Olaf also had an unborn sister who died in the womb when he was 13/14.

I think Olaf has 2 siblings just because everyone in VFD seems to have two siblings...

I think Olaf had two siblings, but I think that they are both dead, perhaps at his hands.

So far, as the pattern suggests, it would seem that Olaf would have siblings, gifted siblings like him. Determining the side of the two would be impossible, unless they were mentioned in one of the books and I failed to remember at the moment.

The sides can't be mentioned in the books, because the siblings aren't even mentioned.

I don't think Olaf had siblings.

Well not everyone, like with Betrand and Beatrice, or the baudelaire orphans would have had an actual auntie or uncle who they could go to. we never see anyone who is the brother or sister of violet klaus and sunnys late mom or dad and if there was, it would be an obvious move after the parents' deaths

You know, I don't think anyone ever considered that, if Olaf had living siblings, they'd be potential guardians. Now there's a fanfic for you - the Baudelaires are taken in by the other two judges of the High Court... Of course, it'd retcon TSS to Hell and back, but it'd probably have to be a what-if anyway considering how much more capable the sinister duo are than Olaf.

Or forget the sinister duo and create any antagonistic sibling of Olaf to take in the Baudelaires. There's infinite potential for fanfic set after TBB and before TVV, but it could be quite satisfying knowing the guardian is someone related to the rest of the series. Call me thick, but I didn't actually realize that the first initials of the Snicket siblings were alphabetical (J, K, L) until I read it somewhere on this forum. I then noticed D/E/F for the Denouements, and I really love the idea of Olaf having M/N siblings (or P/Q siblings - you could even have the 'Q' stand for 'Quisling'). I'll hopefully be able to get ahold of TUA and read it soon - the family tree sounds intriguing.
