but more specifically, is it easy to get an abortion where you live? how do people in your area feel about abortions? do you know someone who has considered or had an abortion?
people in kansas are super against abortions. my parents have been to protest about it and the college i went to was actually kind of scary if you were pro choice. one of my roommates friends hooked up with a guy and got pregnant and she said she never would have spoken to her friend if she had an abortion. i think it all worked out but the couple didn't know each other very well and they had to get married like their parents insisted.
oh george tiller was totally from wichita yall if you've heard of him. at one point we had four abortion clinics and now unless something sensible happened we only have one.

I'm pro choice obviously
In Britain you are allowed a normal abortion up to twelve weeks, and up to 24 weeks if there are special circumstances
In RME last week the teacher asked what I thought the limit for abortions should be. I said around 25 weeks because I thought it was nobody's business but the mother's. She looked visibly shocked that I thought it should even be legal at all

four for you bee
i try really hard not to talk about it to people here and there was this fair thing that had an abortion booth and i had to sneak in and discreetly take literature from it because my parents wouldn't get it for me.

by four i dont mean four abortions. and i wanted abortion literature for a friend. really, she once gave me a pamphlet about how christians should feel about vegetarianism.
there was this article i saw the other day about how all reasons for abortion are good ones and i was going to share it but i cant find it now. basically, if we judge some reasons as being okay and others as not its a way to police women's choices and like bee said, its no one elses business.

oh i found it. rhrealitycheck.org/article/2013/07/15/every-reason-for-an-abortion-is-a-good-reason/Abortion is often framed as a mercy bestowed upon a woman who has committed the “crime” of having had sex. Mercy is something that someone else grants you, however, and not something you can simply decide for yourself that you deserve. That’s what people are stabbing at when they say they don’t want women to use abortion “as birth control.” The fear is that a woman might get an abortion without feeling remorseful or may, gasp, even feel like she’s entitled to it without having to apologize or grovel. Basically, people are uneasy with leaving the decision of whether or not an abortion is deserved to the woman seeking it herself. What a lot of people in the gray area between pro- and anti-choice want is for women to have to justify themselves in order to get abortions, even if it’s something as simple as making women feel ashamed of themselves for what they supposedly did wrong.

Well everyone should have a choice - once. Which normally is before she does anything that can make her pregnant. Including using things against it that aren't 100% safe (yes, nothing is, except not having sex at all), and also including drinking so much that she doesn't think/care about it. If a person isn't ready to have children, they shouldn't be ready to have sex. If in the financial or social situation it's not possible for her to raise a child there is adoption. So many people want to adopt a child and have to wait for ages.
I think it should only be allowed to do anything after rape, and only very soon after. I mean like if a woman was raped she should go to a doctor right the next day and that's her only chance.

Well everyone should have a choice - once. Which normally is before she does anything that can make her pregnant. If a person isn't ready to have children, they shouldn't be ready to have sex.. this is my least favorite argument ever in regards to this issue. because this makes the woman, and only the woman, a wrongdoer. it basically sums up to dont do the crime if you can't do the time. and sex isn't a crime and a woman doesnt deserve to be punished for making the choice to have sex. also this isn't a fair choice because what people know about sex is shocking sometimes. women often don't have all the facts. but people are often resistant to sex ed classes which could teach women ways to make informed decisions about sex.

basically making the choice to have sex should not mean it is now your responsibility, right, punishment whatever to have a baby. that is so not proportionate at all.

So a child is a punishment? Really? I thought it's a person.

And it's nature's fault that it's the woman has to be pregnant and give birth, and not the man. Of course the father should have as much responsibility as the mother.
I think we should stop seeing being pregnant and having a child as something bad, or even a punishment, because it's not. Actually seeing a child as a punishment means seeing sex as a crime.
And don't try to tell me that most women who have an abortion didn't know that having sex could make them pregnant.

So a child is a punishment? Really? I thought it's a person. i dont really know or understand any sciencey stuff but a fetus is different than a child.

i dont think that. i was going to say more but im going to try and go to bed again. so i'll just do this instead: www.youtube.com/watch?v=hA1uAxy-OGA www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pb8RYD0fjbg which is in response to "And don't try to tell me that most women who have an abortion didn't know that having sex could make them pregnant." atleast in america a lot of people are really uniformed about sex and legit think they won't get pregnant if ___. this blank is people think they wont get pregnant if they use a condom. i've been watching a lot of friends lately.
