I hope to see some good music choices in the new series.

^Highly agreed. On tumblr there are so many fan-made music mixes labelled 'ASoUE mixtapes' or whatever, and they're usually awful.

I really want them to use some of the Gothic Archie's audio book songs.

That would be really cool. I imagine it depends on many different things whether those songs would work in the context of a scene. (Though they'd probably work great as credits-songs, at least.) Stephin Merritt could also write a new track to be used as the theme song for the show, which would be sweet.
Personally I'd love to see some Tom Waits and Nick Cave on the soundtrack as well, because they work so damn well in the ASoUE universe. But, more impartially to favourite musicians, I think the filmmakers would do well in implementing more than a bit of opera and maybe classical music.

I'd like to see older music with that clear record effected sound making some sort of appearance personally, it always lends such a lovely sense of tone that I think would really benefit the series. Kinda like how Bioshock or Fallout utilize older songs to add to their ambiance- I think it would have a cool effect if used occasionally. (I always have thought 'Button up your Overcoat' to be a song that fit the series well in an ironic sense- when I boarded a fake animated trailer I never ended up making I used a version of that song).
They'd need a regular background score artist for most of it, too- I always kinda liked Agnes Obel's sounds and thought that a bit of that mixed with stuff similar to Nick Cave or Tom Waits use of acoustics would make a nice tone.
I'd agree on opera and classical music for this reason- especially 1800s-turn of the century stuff. It would fit really well and lend itself to the gritty victorian influence of the series without using the stereotypical soundscapes that usually accompany victorian-themed shows.

Handler tried to convince the movie producers to include Gothic Arch(i)es music, so I would have thought he'd make a similar effort to get Stephin Merritt involved in the Netflix series. I agree that it's an obvious place for music both classical and of the early twentieth century; I always find that record music from that period has a kind of retrospective aura of sadness or even desperation that's clearly unintentional but which is a large part of the appeal to me.

I hope the Gothic Archies are in the Netflix series. Like Terry said, there should be a theme song written by Stephen Merritt if not in the style of.

Yeah but that was a description of their makeup, not their skin colour.

Why would somebody uncaucasian be putting white make up on their face, that would be odd
EDIT: Nvm, I just thought of geishas, I think they do that. Damn, now I think the two-white faced women as geishas is the best idea.

Why would somebody uncaucasian be putting white make up on their faces, that would be odd Why would someone choose to apply makeup to their face and then complain about it (in TSS), as if it was something about their appearance they had no control over?
