So we know that ATWQ is a prequel series of events to ASOUE, and that ATWQ reveals many characters from before. What I am wondering is who are Moxie Mallahan, Cleo Knight, Jake Hix, Keller Haines and Ellington Feint in ASOUE? They said they wanted to join VFD, so that means they might be unnoticed characters in ASOUE. Do you think the fourth book will tie up all the mysteries? Will there be ANOTHER series to reveal more mysteries?

ATWQ takes place in a very small, confined world, but ASoUE is set in a very large one. It would be unsurprising if Moxie, Cleo, Jake, Kellar and Ellington are somewhere out there in the ASoUE universe without ever being close enough to the narrative for us to hear from them. With that said, some people wonder if Moxie might end up as the Quagmires' mother, an inspiration for her son Duncan's interest in journalism. I think it would be nice for the final volume of ATWQ to give us some hint about what they would go on to do with their lives, as Snicket probably knows by now.
As to another series, Handler has said that he doesn't have one planned at present, but fingers crossed. Although there's every chance that a further series would once again have nothing to do with its predecessors - at least at first glance.
And Mister M - the Anxious Clown, I think (though there's also Café Salmonella).

But Jake is a good cook, which makes it unlikely that he would be responsible for The Anxious Clown.

And I doubt he'd restrict himself exclusively to salmon, either, though it's worth noting that his food generally isn't fine dining; his style is street food done in a very sophisticated fashion. So probably not the Veritable French Diner, either.

Another thing worth mentioning is Stain'd-by-the-sea. The Beaudelaires have been almost everywhere except there. Will there ever be a connection between the orphans and the town?

Well, several of their guardians have visited the town.

Well, several of their guardians have visited the town. Several? I only know of Aunt Jospephine. Possibly Count Olaf, but we can not be sure that the Olaf from the bell tower is THE Count Olaf. However, it is very likely that this Olaf is Count Olaf because the school used to be for children of COUNTS and dukes, and COUNT Olaf is a count.

All three of the visitors so far-- Widdershins, Hector, and Josephine-- were the Baudelaires' guardians, although not always in a legal sense.

Widdershins and Hector? Where were they? Who else did I miss? I only noticed Josephine, Kit, and Jacques...

Of course, but I only caught on to the character relations with the third.

In chapter 13 of WCTBATH, Hector visits Stain'd to see Lemony, and in chapter 13 of WDYSHL, Captain Widdershins does the same.

You might want to reread the series before the final book comes out to pick up on more of these connections.
