@LemonySnicket has amnesia and needs your help.(Or he did on Thursday 14th May, 2015, at any rate.) <o> In the middle of an intriguing investigation, Mr. Snicket finds that he cannot recall certain crucial details, such as fraught locations, suspicious people, helpful aphorisms and alluring inanimate objects. Help a more or less esteemed author in his efforts to solve the mystery and get his act together. <o> Read more or less the same thing here. There you have it, folks. On Thursday 14th of May, at 4PM Eastern Time, Lemony Snicket himself will be participating in the Twitter Fiction Festival in what sounds to be a highly characteristic way. Make sure you don't forget. Read the entire story here.Or here.Edit: Daniel Handler has described his plans in an interview:

He started early! And also I forgot, because I knew I'd miss most of it anyway due to my time zone. Well worth following, though, for all latecomers.
Edit: Are these illustrations new? They look... very much for the occasion.

Hehehe! The illustrations are very exciting. I must go through and save them all. This kind of character documenting is something that I would have loved for ASOUE.

They are new indeed... well, at least they've been unreleased so far.

Isn't it noteworthy that there is no illustration for O. Lost?

Isn't it noteworthy that there is no illustration for O. Lost? I think Ornette is still kind of a minor character in the big scheme of things. You may notice that there was no picture of Kellar Haines, either. I'm going to be compiling all the tweets and illustrations later, but you can read the whole story in chronological order already, here: twitter.com/twittermedia/timelines/598935822734241793Edit: My compilation is under the appropriate heading in this post: asoue.proboards.com/post/795410Now let's all reflect on the fact that it took us fourteen years to get a new illustration of Jacques.

Oops I should've mentioned I already compiled it on TheSnicketFile right afterwards. But yes, an illustration of Jacques Snicket is very satisfying. For some reason, seeing his name now made me think of Jacques Derrida, the philosopher/writer who wrote about postmodernism; the name Snicket also has the same number of letters as Derrida. Just an observation, I've never thought of it before now (I guess because as a teen I had no idea who Derrida is)

Despite it not appearing in the Twitter Fiction story, there is in fact TAOA art of Kellar Haines, visible in this Vine: vine.co/v/ei6lXbFwEDiPromotional items for ATWQ at the American Library Association Annual Conference 2015. Let's hope they aren't giving away the next book months in advance this time.
