So I'm still working through my grief of my UK book collection not being all the same height (could have been so perfect next to my ASOUE set...)
Has there been any indication there might be a UK edition boxset of the series, possibly with an adjusted size hardcover copy of WCTBATH? Would probably buy the whole set just for the one book...

I haven't seen any indications anywhere, I'm afraid; if one were coming any time soon, I would expect there to be online retailer listings for it - ditto for File Under, which there's no sign of whatsoever despite Egmont saying they intended to publish it (they also openly expressed admiration of the cover art, so perhaps they just meant that they would rip it off). With that said, the U.K. paperback editions are the same size, but a box set of those would be pretty worthless - they don't even have colour illustrations. Meanwhile, the American box set, A Complete Mystery, is only about two months away now, but still has no box art. It's a pretty dull time on the box set front.

I suppose my disjointed sized set on my bookshelf tells a story in itself, so I can take some consolation in that... but screw you, Egmont.

I hate to point it out to you, but if you look closely SYBIS is a tiny bit higher than WDYSHL.

Stop living all my dreams, Egmont. Looking forward to seeing what mystery height WITNDFAON ends up as.

I like to think of my ATWQ set as 'eclectic', with at least three different sizes represented (four, if you count the microscopic difference between ?2 and ?3, since I also count FU13). But I'm pretty sure I'll be getting the box set.

I can't see much difference between ?2 and ?3 on my shelf, is it a difference in height or width? Frankly the ?1-2 issue overshadows everything else, oh my lord you would think I would have come to peace with it by now but it still just feels ridiculous.

I think we're talking about a height difference of about a millimetre; you don't really notice. I don't... normally, I would really object to the height difference, as I hate it when a series changes style midway through, but there is so much else I dislike about the Egmont editions that it's just one more nail in the coffin (along with them actually changing how the colours were arranged on the spines, as well as the front covers being a total mess from a consistency perspective). Also, I keep them on a shelf with most of my other oversized ASoUE collection and there are so many different sizes that it's actually a bit immaterial. For instance, I have a set of Egmont ASoUE paperbacks from a few years ago lined up next to ATWQ, and they're a different size again, between ?1 and ?2 in height. At least, for all their flaws, the U.S. editions are consistent in height, even for spin-offs like File Under and that weird new ?1.
