I always imagined Olaf as someone who'd be easy to beat down physically talking but nobody actually is capable of doing that, and that's what makes him so scary.
Also, the fact that NPH is attractive doesn't mean that Olaf is going to be. I also imagine young Olaf being more attractive than the one the Baudelaire kids knew, his physical appeareance as an adult actually reflecting his wickedness. Maybe we're getting some flashbacks? WHO KNOWS (I hope not)

My first thought when I read Warburton was cast was "No. Just no." But I've only ever seen him in Rules of Engagement, a program I somehow found reasonably amusing despite its incredible lack of intelligent writing, distinctive characters or worthwhile storylines. Hearing his voice... I suppose he could work as Lemony, but he'll have to sound less deep and menacing than I've heard him. He definitely doesn't look like Lemony should, but hopefully that's mostly irrelevant as we shouldn't see his face properly.

OMG I didn't realize he is Kronk. The commercial had me worried but knowing he plays Kronk is reassuring.

Pat actually looks like my headcanon appearance of Lemony, so that's good.

Olaf is better looking than Lemony, and I'm pretty sure that's not how it's supposed to happen. Well, you gotta remember that NPH will probably always have some kind of prosthetics on as well as disguises too

I made a high-pitched sound upon reading this because Lemony was cast. I think he'll do well; as I said with NPH, actors tend to be more varried then their previous roles sometimes imply. Also, the fact that we know molds are being made for NPH suggests we maybe should not judge by real life appearances (says the blind girl, hee, take that with a grain of salt). As for Lemony most likely looking tough, he has been accomplished at archery since the age of six, once interviewed for a job where he had to showcase his aarchery skills, took fencing classes and was part of the legendary Snicket Snickersnee (sword-length knife, so engaged in a legendary swordfight), and carries around typewriters. All that just doesn't go away, even if he prefers writing in a corner. It's an interesting contrast in a lot of ways, actually.

If you're okay with me asking, I'm kind of curious to hear about your perspective on the Netflix show in general. I don't know any blind people, so I don't really know what measures, if any, are taken in TV production to help you get a better experience of TV programmes. Are you as excited as the rest of us about this, or is it kind of a minor thing to get a TV adaptation when you can't see the screen anyway?

I'm really excited!!! Especially/Particularly because netflix puts all its original series in Audio Description--a voice describes all the visual elements, from costumes to any actionns and gestures to when it changes from day to night to reading the credits and describing any visual opening sequences; when done well it's like super narration, and bad AD is extremely rare (but sadly, it happenns). If you want to check it out, I'd suggest Dare Devel, Jessica Jones, Sherlock, or any animated movie under the Audio Description link (for years, only animated movies had this accomodation, but the describers really gave it their all). The majority of TV stations either don't provide this feature, certain providers have the signal that transmits it blocked so you need an antenna, or the AD is just the most basic stuff (he leaves, Karin comes in, he smiles, but if you want to know who the actors aare you'll have to look that up yourself). So if this show were happening on a network/channel, I'd be less excited since I wouldn't know if it would be in AD until it aired, and then I might not be able to access it only to find the AD was just okay. A lot of movie theaters and DVD's provide this too (with the theaters you get an earpiece so that only the AD comes through and you listen to the movie with the other ear), as do four play theaters and one opera house (for those the AD is done live, as opposed to the pre-recorded description you get with everything else, so the quality can vary). So the only thing I'm less passionate about in a way are these casting announcements, since at this point all we have to go on is pictures.

One of the show's writers was quoted a while back mentioning "the first season," implying that they have the possibility in mind for more.

I have mixed feelings about this. Of course I want more than one season, but what if the first one (like the movie) is not as successful as they expect and we never get to see the whole thing? I'd go insane.
