Has anyone noted yet that we now know how Charles looks, or that Sunny is trying to free him - in other words, not engaged in a dental duel for her life, possibly suggesting that there's been made some (seemingly necessary) changes to the climax of TMM? Is the eye-themed tower supposed to be something we know from the books? I didn't notice an eye-themed tower - I suppose it could be a redesign of Dr. Orwell's optometrist building, or Olaf's tower from TBB. But I did notice Charles - although originally I mistook him for Lemony. I think they look a bit too similar. The trailer starts with a trolley in front of a very colorful version of the Baudelaire mansion before the fire. [...] Thank you for writing this, Zortegus - I hadn't noticed a few of the details you mentioned, so I found your post very helpful.

Finally Georgina Orwell has come to life! I would prefer a taller blonde actress; but I give this actress high hopes.
I also like that the troupe are more involved.

Before the title card at the end of the trailer, there's a rapid succession of clips. To me it looks like a man is being cornered by the theater troupe, and tied to a log... presumably Charles! I love the casting of Olaf's theater troupe.
I think the trailer has a pretty eclectic feel to it, not sure what casual one-time-readers will think when they see it. Really the books had a similarly eclectic feeling -- sort of an ironic dark tone mixed with a forthright silliness (zombies in the snow, Aunt Josephine's fear of realtors, .
What little we've seen of the blonde haired woman matches the sort of over-the-top antics Lemony Snicket describes him and his VFD colleagues partaking in... it's got to be Jacqueline. Really curious how she'll fit in.
Also wondering if Justice Strauss's role will somehow be expanded. Joan's portrayal clearly has potential, though it's not obvious how she'd fit into the series' larger plot.
EDIT: Being introduced to Lucky Smells Lumbermill in TWW is interesting. Maybe the Baudelaires choose to go there similarly to how they choose V.F.D. in the books.
Haven't the Quagmires been confirmed to appear? I'm wondering if the Baudelaires will actually meet them early, or if perhaps they'll appear in a scene with Lemony Snicket or Jacqueline

Violet's clothing in TWW is nearly the same as the book illustrations. She has the double buttoned coat and the dress underneath, while blue at the top is white at the bottom. So, all we need is a more burgundy colored coat and it'll be a close match. It definitely seems like Violet's sense of style while more pink and girly in the beginning is going to evolve into something closer to the illustrations as time goes on.
That shot on the trolley with Justice Strauss makes me wonder if this takes place on the Baudelaire's initial trip to Briny Beach, perhaps just happening to run into Justice Strauss, or if this is from their shopping venture (But that wouldn't explain why they're passing by Briny Beach, unless maybe Olaf's neighborhood is that far away from the main shopping district and thus passes through the beach).
I did have a thought about the gold faced woman. What if she stowed away on the boat to capture Olaf, disguising herself as a gold statue and that's why she has that gold skin and is emerging from a trapdoor in an area that looks roughly like a cargo hold.

That sounds precisely right. After all, VFD members have disguised themselves as bushes and other nonliving things before in canon.

Thank you, Zortegus, that was absolutely fantastic description and extremely helpful!!! Would you mind if I shared it with other blind fans not on 667? Go for it, I'm happy to help! I'll edit it now adding the rest of it.

Intrigued to see what they do. I wonder if the introduction to Paltryville is actually an introduction or just world building. They may not make anything of it in the show at first, but I'd be shocked if we don't get a 'That's the place from the picture!' at some point. We know the Quagmires filmed things for season one but we don't know what!

I'm not quite sure how to feel, to be honest. I lowered my expectations as much as possible going in, so I wouldn't be disappointed, and the trailer neither exceeded nor lowered them. It's... fine. I don't really have any strong feelings toward it one way or another. Honestly my main takeaway from the trailer is that a couple of the elements here are reminiscent of this collection of concept art for the 2004 film. I'm thinking specifically of the contraption Violet has on in 0:50 and the Baudelaries on the trolley near the beginning.

lorelai, please check my previous post again, I edited it and added some extra stuff and completed the trailer description do you need a description of the sneak peek pictures we got these last days too? I'd love to describe them to you! If it's easier to you I can record and upload an audio, or ask someone else to do it, since I think it's easier to record it than to write it. Also, I saw a lot of interesting details doing this description for Lorelai, so feel free to read my previous post. Things like Klaus with a picture/paper on his hand while they go to Lucky Smells Lumbermill, or the amount of hidden VFD symbols there are (I'm making a special post in the Facebook fanpage for that).

One thing I really love is Justice Strauss seemingly always being in her judge's robes and (usually) wig.

Finally home from work so i could go through everything with a fine-toothed comb. Thanks bogtrotter for posting all those pictures that was super helpful.
I like the telescopes as a code breaker I think that is a very interesting idea. I like that they are adding more weight to Miserable Mill by making it a place VFD has been. So there is more purpose it isnt till TPP that readers really got any VFD involvement in TMM.
I am curious if the Name VFD will be spoken in this season or if it will be figuring out the Eye. And it’s the Eye that is driving the Mystery rather then VFD. And it seems like VFD owns half the City with their symbol everywhere. I really want know the story of the blonde. (as we all do) I think its really interesting having such and important character in the show that wasn’t in the books. I am curious if they will end up being a character from the books like the duchess of Winnipeg or the swimming woman. One of those background caracters in the books we never see but read about.
I love The Androgynous Henchmen i didn’t realize that they were in the upside down shot till i looked at the character. same goes for the bald man in disguise took me a while to get who it was.
The one point of concern (i feel like that word is too strong but cant think of a better one) is Olaf being funny. some of his lines work and some didn't. i'm just curious that in all the interviews they have been saying Dark tone but choose to highlight the more comedic moments. i still believe Olaf will be scary and evil that is why the funny moments still work. Like with the "because its fun" line (love it the delivery)
The Style is beautiful and im so excited for future season in this same style and maybe if we are lucky All the Wrong Questions.

Another thing: it seems they've changed Shirley's name from Shirley T. Sinoit-Pecer to Shirley St. Ives. I don't think that looks like it's an anagram for anything?

Yes, I was worried about the henchmen, but now that I've seen them in action, I really like them. Seeing them disguised alongside Olaf was delightful, and I like that they're giving them more to do in the show. I liked the actors they chose for the movie, but they never really had a lot to do then. Here, we see them in a bunch of different scenes, and it's really got me excited to see them in the series proper. In fact, I'm almost sad that I'll have to say goodbye to them already!
Also- An ATWQ series would be a gift from god.
