Yes, I was worried about the henchmen, but now that I've seen them in action, I really like them. Seeing them disguised alongside Olaf was delightful, and I like that they're giving them more to do in the show. I liked the actors they chose for the movie, but they never really had a lot to do then. Here, we see them in a bunch of different scenes, and it's really got me excited to see them in the series proper. In fact, I'm almost sad that I'll have to say goodbye to them already! Also- An ATWQ series would be a gift from god. I agree. Also, I'm kind of glad they didn't show the Anxious Clown, I want to be surprised with that, as that was one part in the movie we didn't get.

For real though, they've translated Helquist's illustrations to live-action perfectly. The tone, judging from the new full trailer, is very much in tune with the books as well. I AM PUMPED FOR THIS. Also that hourglass gag makes me giggle every time. I noticed Will Arnett, too! I wonder if he and Cobie Smulders have another cameo later or in the next season. Where is he? At the 1:44 mark. I thought it was just Olaf in glasses, but People Magazine claims it's Dupin. Nah, it's the costume he wore in front of Mulctuary Money Management on the first (unofficial) on-set pictures we got. It's Olaf in TBB, I think. Is it usual to say 'Olahf'? Have I been saying it wrong all these years? I've no idea how else you'd pronounce it (except for an American oh-laugh maybe), and I don't see how 'Olaff' is different. But yeah, seems like you pronounced it wrong all these years, Hermes =P

That shot on the trolley with Justice Strauss makes me wonder if this takes place on the Baudelaire's initial trip to Briny Beach, perhaps just happening to run into Justice Strauss, or if this is from their shopping venture (But that wouldn't explain why they're passing by Briny Beach, unless maybe Olaf's neighborhood is that far away from the main shopping district and thus passes through the beach). Yes, I think this is the case. It's possible that this is from their shopping trip, but the framing of various shots suggests that they see the fire truck on its way to the Baudelaire mansion whilst they're on the trolley; the fact that Lemony Snicket is present introducing the Baudelaires further cements that this or an almost identical scene occurs at the very start of the show. I'd suggest that TBB is going to open with the Baudelaires on the trolley on the way to Briny Beach, they meet Justice Strauss quite by chance for the first time here, and spot the fire truck on its way. This then flavours their subsequent meeting with Justice Strauss in Chapter Two when they think they're being adopted by her, and also affects Justice Strauss's desire to adopt them, having met them before the fire.

Guys. What is WILL ARNETT DOING IN THIS SHOW?? That's him next to Cobie Smulders. Also - who is the man to Jo's right? While I'd be inclined to think that Will and Cobie are playing some sort of couple, from the way other couples are standing, I'd like to think that they were Jacques and Kit Snicket. The idea of Patrick Warburton and Will Arnett playing brothers is entirely believable. The man on Jo's right could then be Jerome. The other thought that crossed my mind though is that do the Quagmire triplets' parents factor into this somehow? I noticed him as well! I thought "Is it?" then "Yeah, it totally is!" I wonder if the man to Cobie's right is Tony Hale. He played Will Arnett's character's brother in Arrested Development. Certainly looks like him from what I can make out.

Another thing: it seems they've changed Shirley's name from Shirley T. Sinoit-Pecer to Shirley St. Ives. I don't think that looks like it's an anagram for anything? Sinoit-Pecer only appears in TUA, though. We don't know that Olaf actually used that name during the action of TMM. It's most unlikely that a receptionist would be called Sinoit-Pecer, and perhaps Olaf is intelligent enough to see that. But why St Ives I can't say. A suggestion that O has seven wives, perhaps?

Shirley St. Ives sounds catchy enough, I like it and sounds like a receptionist.
I'm not really worried about Olaf being dark and evil; as someone said before, it's normal to show in the trailer funny moments to interest the public; anyway, in my opinion his "You haven't the faintest idea" in the previous trailer was on point, I loved the tone and his expression.

Specifically, Sara Canning on her Twitter has stated that she's acting in the series, though she hasn't said who she's playing. IMDB lists her for both episodes of TRR, for what that's worth, which is nothing.

That's only answers half of the question, though. We know who plays the golden woman, but who is the golden woman? Still betting it's Jacquelyn.
Also, there's a stark contrast between this thread and the YouTube comments, where it almost seems like people want to hate the show.

Oh, I wasn't even aware that Shirley had a suggested last name in the books! Learned something new, I guess. Also, I'm wondering about the identity of that blonde having the knife contest with Olaf. Who is she? Anyone have any speculations? About the Youtube comments, they're pretty salty people in general until they see it for themselves.

Youtube comments be like "BUBUBUB NO ONE'S BETTER THAN JIM CARREY" and they didn't even know the movie is based on 13 books.

I think the Youtube comments are to be expected. Here's the thing, this is a nostalgic property. A lot of those comments are by people who either read the books or watched the movie as a child, so nostalgia vision is going to blind them to the problems of the movie and the faults of the books. Add in the fact that a fair share of those users have only seen the movie and those who have read the books probably haven't done so in a decade. This is the nature of nostalgic properties. The internet will complain, but then the show will come out and a fair share of their complaints will disappear and a few remaining voices will scream sacrilege.
The two complaints I keep seeing is: "WHAT! NO JIM CARREY!!!" and "THIS LOOKS TOO FUNNY, NOT DARK LIKE THE BOOKS!!!"
People will probably complain about the Jim Carrey thing even after the show comes out, but that'll happen if only because he's a movie star and NPH is a TV star (Mostly). So that complaint will linger I'm sure.
As for the second complaint I imagine that'll mostly resolve the second the show comes out. The movie was exceedingly tame, almost every misfortune was toned down for the big screen. It was still edgy for a children's movie, but not anywhere near the books. All this series has to do is show slightly more than the movie did (Maybe more than Monty's hand and it wouldn't hurt for Count Olaf to throw Josephine into the water before the camera cuts away). Though I'm sure the hunger for blood the typical Youtuber has will be filled once Dr. Orwell dies.
Too, people are being thrown off by the bright colors of the trailer. I've met many people who believe Tim Burton's version of Wonka is darker, when in reality it wusses out at every given turn. I think the broader audience judges darkness by physical light and color gradient rather than by actual tone of the writing or acting. And people who complain about the jokes in the trailer only need to reread TRR where there's a chapter that begins with Snicket talking about ranch dressing and then veers into a conversation about driving arrangements which involves someone suggesting that Uncle Monty's corpse drive one of the cars. This is a book series that's a drama one minute and a satire the next. The tone of the books is like a rubber ball falling down a flight of stairs, it goes all over the place. Wackiness is to be expected.
