Sorry if I've asked before but who tf is jacqulyn? I've read the books and there is no one called that in them wtf In the script fragments that came to light during the show's production, there is a new characters, a Jacqulyn, that is apparently a volunteer. In the TV show, it looks like she's acting as a kinda of Kit Snicket character, following the kids around and try to help them. Also, the shots with Count Olaf throwing the knife and walking around with it are TERRIFYING. I have no problem with NPH. He's going to be very scary. Finally, I have now counted two separate dresses of Violet's that are decorated with little whales! Motif, or just fun?

She's one of the actors in Zombies in the Snow (named in the poster from the first set pics we saw of the kids I think?) and also I believe she was mentioned in some of the script fragments members of D. Handler's postal club got

B. : Jacquelyn's surname is Slezsak, so it's likely she's another JS (and there was some evidence that there was one other than Jacques Snicket, Justice Strauss, Jerome Squalor and Julio Sham). It's also possible that she is included, as a collaborator of Gustav Sebald's, to explain how he could still be sending messages to Monty after his death.

Very nice trailer ! I feel confident that this will be a good show, overall. I think I would have loved NPH as Count Olaf if I hadn't seen Jim Carrey. Physically speaking, he fit the part really well in my opinion. NPH's nose on the other hand is too round sometimes, for instance haha. But that's nitpicking. I'm worried about Aunt Josephine, though. She was always my favorite guardian (because of her story, her character and of course Meryl Streep's amazing performance). That being said, I believe in the kids as a trio and Count Olaf will provide darkness and humor, so I'm definitely on board!
I'm not sure this is the right place to ask this but : did we find out who was behind the very first teaser that took the web by storm ? The one that had all those reference to the movies and that eery music ?

Just realized - if the second word is flavored, then the last two words are the same length, meaning that might narrow things down. Maybe not helpfully, but still: So, possibly, an 8 letter word starting with VA. VA______ FLAVORED DESSERTS When I zoom in it looks like the third letter is an S and it looks to me like just under the hanging bananas is the letter L, because it looks just like the L in FLAVORED. Do you agree?

The one that had all those reference to the movies and that eery music ? It was a group called the Digital Artists Collective, who have a history of this sort of thing. Having heard nothing more on the subject for over a year, it now seems highly unlikely that the teaser had any official ties whatsoever.

I'm also realizing as contemplate on this that the fact that Violet's talent is more visual while Klaus's talent is more conceptual may be the reason why Klaus is getting so many lines.
Visually speaking a boy who is good at reading books isn't as interesting as someone who invents cool things. SO his role as the more active voice of reason makes sense.

Can it be Jan 13th already? I want to know so many things that only the full show will be able to tell me (plot more than visual, you've all pointed out so many amazing details on that front). I don't have a problem with any of the voices. Nothing in TRR clues us in to how Stephano should sound (the audio gives him an overdone Italian accent for example), and while Olaf's voice is constanly described as "whaezy", that has nothing to do with pitch, and it's frankly very hard to convey vocally without sounding breathy, which brings up clarity issues. If you'll notice, that description gets dropped by book five and his voice is just low, so I think we can contribute some of this to a new series mistake, and it being such an odd attribute that people seem to have different opinions on.

Do you agree? I think the first word is probably 6 letters - you can see that the kerning is slightly different and the "VAS" takes up the same amount of space as the "FLAV" and "DESS" on the lines below. "Vastly" seems the most likely (if not only) candidate, but there's no www.vastlyflavoreddesserts.com yet...

I've been trying to crack the VFD for a while and have gotten no further than anybody else, however, just for a second, I'd like to return to the discussion of Sir. Does anyone else think they may be pulling a switcheroo on us here and that who we're seeing isn't actually Sir, but rather a representative of Sir, or something along those lines? I'm not quite buying the "they just couldn't afford the effects to hide his face" excuse quite yet, as there are plenty of ways to achieve the same result without needing CGI. For example, just don't have him leave the office, or have his back turned the entire time if the Baudelaires are in the office, or some other strategy that I'm not even going to bother thinking of at the moment. Just a thought. Not saying it's impossible that we have been seeing Sir, it very well could be Sir, but I'm also not about to rule out my theory entirely either, or at least, not unless there's an official, certain confirmation that Don Johnson is most definitely Sir, in which case I'll drop the theory.

I think the fact that Daniel Handler retweeted this kinda confirms it's Sir I completely agree that Daniel Handler has confirmed it. BUT now that i see the tweet again, I wonder why would he phrase it like that? why the (...)? for me, both sentences can mean both different things: -Uncle Monty and…Sir? -Uncle Monty and Sir

I forgot he retweeted that, I only remembered his first tweet asking people if they could guess which character each actor was playing, where he didn't technically confirm or deny anything (though of course those of us following closely already knew Aasif Mandvi was Monty). But yeah, nevermind. Pretty much confirms Don Johnson is Sir, I guess.
