I wonder if they're cutting out the train from The Miserable Mill and replacing it with the truck. That would make sense, given that it seems like Paltryville no longer exists in this version. However, that raises the question as to how they will present the optometrist's office without a town for it to be located in. I mean- I don't think it's that Paltryville doesn't exist, I think that it's just in a state of disrepair and abandon. Paltryville's been previously compared to New Orleans post-Katrina by, I think it was Teleram? (Correct me if I'm wrong.) I wonder if this fire business isn't an expansion of the idea that the town itself was wounded. that was me, tho i no longer stand by it

I've suscribed to Google News for 'a series of unfortunate events', and there's only been a bunch of 'What's New On Netflix' kind of stuff. Need something newwwww
Also, can anybody link me to some proper ASOUE pdfs? The pdfs I found so far aren't identical to the original book. It's always been formatted a different way. Can I haz pdfs plz?

I suspect you will be hard-pressed to find pirated copies of the books which match the original formatting. Even the legitimate ebook editions (and certain print republications) don't retain it, though I would point you to those regardless were it not for the fact that they've become mysteriously unavailable, defeating what is to me the whole point of an ebook. Since you're clearly acquainted with the print editions, is there some reason why you cannot refer to those?

I am too lazy to visit a physical library around me (also it's cold), so I had to resort to pdfs to read ASOUE. The reason I want near-perfect to perfect copies of the books is because I want to keep the effects and formats Lemony Snicket used, like a full page of evers in TRR, or two pages of darkness in TEE, or a huge, halting STOP at the end of the page in THH, and I want to keep the drawings that Brett Helquist used in the same format. Basically, I want to retain such good effects Snicket and Helquist use, otherwise it wouldn't garner the crisp perfection and useful literary techniques the books would've had.
Woah thats a lot of words but I'm going to try searching up some news again to see if I have any results.

Does anyone else find it interesting that one of the maps at Aunt Josephine's is labeled the "Land of Districts"? I don't recall a land of districts in the books.

New Tv Spot - www.ispot.tv/ad/Ai48/netflix-a-series-of-unfortunate-eventstrailer-song-by-doris-dayI'm loving Patrick as Lemony. In the books there are so many contradicting themes as a part of it's cartoonish charm. Patrick gives Lemony, who claims to be cowardice despite in the books constantly putting himself in dangerous situations, that strange contrast. Meek and melancholic yet so burly and deep toned. I like it.

I don't really like how they did the spot with Snicket standing over the image, but I do like what was shown. Our first view of Lousy Lane. Also it looks like the Baudelaire's boating adventures will be more intense than either the book or movie, those waves are pretty massive. Finally that last scene looks to be them leaving the theater after the Marvelous Marriage, at least based on the garish dress Mrs. Poe is wearing (plus Violet and Klaus look like they're wearing stage makeup. Violet's hair doesn't look straight in that shot either, so definitely post Marvelous Marriage).

Wow, that boat scene over Lake Lachrymose under Hurricane Herman is going to be epic!! Probably the most intense action sequence of the season. Can't wait for those leeches, though!! I'm glad they haven't shown them yet, it would be nice to discover them with the actual show... I'm starting to feel Aunt Josephine's death is going to be pretty scary.
