I've decided to start avoiding most information about the show at this point too, does the teaser spoil anything?

I've just had my heart broken..... My mum's just told me that it's Tuesday today, not Wednesday... I'm just going to sit in the corner and play The Sound Of Silence on repeat, lamenting my confusion.

Omg this is one of my favorite promotional materials so far, it's right up my alley. :-) I found twelve for sure at first glance, I'm not sure about the thirteenth, I'll have to watch it again. Here's a list of what I found: Three on a match Spilling salt Chopsticks sticking upright in bowls of rice Sungka Portrait falling off wall Umbrella open indoors Ladder Black cat Breaking a mirror Clock Four Friday the 13th
For the last one I'm leaning towards either the flowers in the birdcage (I know cut flowers are bad luck, and white flowers, as well as keeping a bird inside, but I don't think mums are unlucky and those look like mums), or one of the two spiders we saw, since spiders have a lot of good and bad luck around them. Obviously it's bad luck to kill a spider, which the spider under the magnifying glass by the window might be signifying (like that mean trick kids do with ants)? Or maybe I'm just missing something. Idk I'll ask my friend who knows more about superstitions than me

Anyone noticed the elevator numbers stopping at 4? Like... 4 books?

Anyone noticed the elevator numbers stopping at 4? Like... 4 books? That was one of the unlucky things! :-) Four is considered unlucky because in Chinese it's practically homophonous with the word for death. If there's ever another Snicket series and they continue with the theme of unlucky numbers maybe there will be 191 books and they will all mention airplanes.

Isn't this fun!? My fiancee and I were doing some digging, because the list took a while. The flowers are the stumper, because Daisies are especially good luck, the complete opposite! After some digging, I found that there are certain flowers it's unlucky to have indoors (even though Daisies aren't one of them). Also, dreaming of daisies in the winter is bad luck. And yes, for the clock, it is, more specifically, that it is bad luck to give a clock as a gift, which is why it rolls out of a box. SUNGKA! That's what it was called. Thats' why I had a hard time googling it. Thank you!

Fiancee noticed the tarantula. Typically, spiders are good luck, but if a tarantula comes indoors, it's a sign of death.

This is so beautiful!! Annoyingly I can't watch it with sound just now, but I will ASAP. The visuals, though, are just lovely. It immediately made me think of Violet's inventions, and that fake trailer, and it's so beautifully eerie and aaaaghhhh

Aaaah the new promo is absolutely great! It seems like it captures the atmosphere of the upcoming series perfectly. I wonder how much the fake trailer influenced this one.

I'm not a huge fan of spiders so my relationship with spider superstitions boils down to like, apologizing to a spider before I kill it or asking a spider a question before I put it outside. :-p Also thanks for expanding on the clock thing bc I just copied down the list I made as I watched and forgot to add explanations for curious parties oops

They seem to have done the best they can with a trailer made of objects in an indoor environment without being accused of imitating the famous fake trailer. I was liking it until the burning paper transition at the end.
