Seventeen years ago today the first tale of the Baudelaires was released. What an awful thought.

The book is now old enough to have quite a number of new rights and responsibilities. Thinking of it as a person, yes, it is surprisingly mature now - though it also reminds us that some of us have been at this business quite a long time too.
Still, its thirteenth birthday was the real milestone. The next big anniversary for TBB will be its one hundred and seventieth.

It is quite a miserable occasion, but look at how it brought us together. I hope the Baudelaire orphans are safe and have grown into great adults.

To think when I first came across this miserable story, it was only six years old. How time flies, and what wonderful adults the Baudelaires must be!!!
