Aleksandra asks “Who is the best Series of Unfortunate Events character, in your opinion, and why is it Count Olaf?” I always enjoyed Bruce, who sadly is not in the latest Netflix adaptation of A Series of Unfortunate Events. Bruce was a character always dear to my heart. So then Bruce won't appear in TSS. I can't imagine the Snow Scouts plot is completely abandoned, though, so will they have another character to lead the troupe? I can imagine Carmelita being the head of the group. The final volume - that's slightly more specific than the answer he gave in 667's interview. I guess "Solitude" is really the only possibility.

I was wondering whether by 'the latest Netflix adaptation', there might be a chance that he was only referring to the parts already made - I would suspect Daniel Handler of saying something like that while he was writing the very scenes in which Bruce later appears. I don't think they would abandon the Snow Scouts, either, but I don't really see Carmelita leading them. For one thing, that would mean that some adults somewhere had allowed a group of children to climb Mount Fraught all on their own. Of course, adults in these books are known for their poor decision-making skills, but usually their poor decisions are made precisely because they won't allow children to do a particular thing. Second, it would mean that a a group of children accepted Carmelita as their leader, and she's too unlikeable for that - I'd almost be more willing to suspend my disbelief for a baby climbing an elevator shaft with her teeth. The final volume - that's slightly more specific than the answer he gave in 667's interview. I guess "Solitude" is really the only possibility. I don't recall what we knew before - I think the most specific clue I'd heard until now was that it was in "the text", did we know any more than that? I'm certainly tempted to read ?4 again, though!

Thank you for the transcript, Quisby; the unprompted format seems to bring out some of his most illuminating comments.

Yes, that is all we knew before. He said, "Oh, but it's right there in the text. Don't you want to find it for yourself?"

I guess that is why she says S. ; the tale to explain why her name is Solitude is probably a long one.

Why are we not talking more about "I’m working on a fairly secret Lemony Snicket book."
I guess cuz there's not much to go on.
But.
I'm stoked for whatever this is.

Many thanks for the transcript!!! Along with all the Netflix info, it's nice to see he's apparently not done with Lemony--or Lemony-as-narrator.
