So, I'm posting this here for lack of any more appropriate section — it appears, to the best of my Googling ability, that there has not yet been a proper ASoUE fanfilm. The closest I can find is an admittedly very neat, but woefully insubstantial music video for Dreary, featuring, rather admirably, a pre-Warburton-style take on a live-action Lemony. (There's also the so-called "Netflix teaser trailer" of murky origins, but I doubt that it can even be called a "fanfilm" to any meaningful degree — though the YouTube search engine certainly seems to think so, its being the first result if you type Lemony Snicket fanfilm in its search bar.)
Well, now that the Netflix series has lastingly redeemed the idea of Averse film content, and in my dignity as an amateur actor & cinematographer, I really couldn't let that stand. I intend to craft a proper live-action short wherein I shall endeavor to play a pre-TBB Count Olaf. Details are still fuzzy, though I have already obtained some props and jotted down a few ideas for scenes. My intent with it is that it could fit either the books' or series' universe, though by necessity it can't quite take place in either, as I do not look anything like Neil Patrick Harris but also lack certain traits of the book-Olaf in a way no fan makeup can fix. (I'm not nearly tall enough, for example.)
I believe I have someone nailed down for a younger Kit. Anyone interested in playing another character in it, do tell me! (Anyone frightened of logistics, never fear; I'm thinking, for example, of having inserts from a Gustav Sebald film — not Zombies in the Snow, obviously, the timeline wouldn't allow it, but some other thing in that style.)
