It's possible, since in Averse (what an amazing word) there are nobles, kings, counts ... But I think "Sir" has more to do with "boss"

I don't think Sir would be knighted, he just doesn't seem dignified enough to me. But maybe he used to be a more noble person? I somehow doubt this...

A knight is never called simply Sir (unless you are trying to make fun of him), always Sir Robert or whatever. So no, I don't think Sir can be a knight.
