I will start by quoting TWW. The whole Josephine plot helped me not to be the the overly critical person who I was. I used to correct people when I was a child, even adults. I was paying attention to the way they spoke and I was criticizing the teachers when they made mistakes. But when I read TWW I found someone who acted similarly to me.. And I realized how annoying it was to be like that. And I also saw what the result is like that. It affected me a lot. I still see a tendency in me to criticize others, (and maybe you see that trend in my comments about the show). But I think ASOUE helped me to lower the level of criticism and to look at myself. Of course, it wasn't just ASOUE. I also read the Bible a lot and there are passages there that helped me to realize the same thing in me. But when I read the Bible, I'm already looking for life lessons. When I read ASOUE, this lesson came to me when I was unprepared.

As far as my personality goes, I think ASoUE gave me a fondness for wordplay (anagrams and the like) early on, and developed my appreciation for dark humour.

I went to respect children as being smarter and wise than I believed. I now respect the children's opinions, and listen to them.

Children are a lot smarter then most adults think. Lemony/Daniel probably had a similar problem with getting adults to listen him growing up.
