I've been thinking about this for some time. GOing through the material: In the BB books Justice Strauss said “Yes, I heard about the accident'' most propably referring to the Daily Punctilio wrong article. But in the episode 1 of the series (newest canon material so far) DP had nothing about 'an accident', which is surprising.There's on some latin article by Geraldine that I'm not able tro translate (possibly something random?).  Could it be it was an accident after all? What do you think? If not, who do you think started the fire? I thought it could have been an accident cause by Olaf, but propably not, IDK. |

The Latin on the newspaper actually doesn’t translate to anything of consequence, I’m afraid — it’s just a technique used by prop designers in film/TV to make a page seem busy without actually writing something up. Sorry  |

It is interesting to see that Geraldine Juliene does exist in the ASOUE universe of Netflix. She didn't show up, but she wrote this article ... I think she knew that people don't actually read what she writes, they just see the photos and the titles.
About the fire being an accident, I already wrote a theory that was supported (at least in part) by Dante. Everything that Dante and I agree on has a huge chance of being true.

Geraldine's name also appears in the tunnels. Joe Tracz told us here that she was originally intended to appear. |

I was wrong with the news paper, sorry for a false alarm :/
The Quagmire fire arsonist (propably Georgina) is holding a DP with 'Baudelaire fire was an accident' title in ep 8, nothing new found out for the book canon though
