If desired, explain the reasons.

I prefer baseball because I understand the rules while cricket I don't.

A Greek friend of mine once asked me how long a cricet match lasted (obviously expecting an answer like 'ninety minutes').
'Well', I said, 'some matches last three days, and then again -'
'THREE DAYS? THREE DAYS?' He was rather taken aback, to say the least.
(I can't actually answer the question, as I've never watched baseball.)

I've never watched baseball, but I've grown up listening to cricket commentary (and occasionally watching it). It's a rare sport where I listen to it far more than I watch it; as Hermes mentioned, cricket matches can go on for days, so the commentators go off on what can be very entertaining tangents.
Anyway, cricket gets my vote simply because I haven't ever watched baseball and don't feel particularly inclined to try, whereas I would miss cricket if it suddenly vanished from the face of the earth.
