A few weeks ago I was able to track down a copy of one of the movie's drafts, from April of 2004. However, for various and complicated reasons it cannot be scanned all at but the person who owns it was kind enough to let me read and take pictures.
So I thought I would post an extract or two on here in the coming days while I get the deleted scenes masterpost updated and ready, because that's going to take weeks.

EXT. DAMOCLES DOCK - LATER
The children are all alone on the rickety dock except for a a FISHERMAN (CAPTAIN SAM) boarding up his windows in a nearby shack.
KLAUS
"Aunt Josephine?"
VIOLET
Never heard of her. Sunny?
SUNNY
(shakes her head)
Ana. ("Nope.")
A long beat.
KLAUS
Does it strike you as odd that none of our relatives are related to us?
