667 DARK AVENUE

THE REVOLUTIONARY REBRANDING

STEP ONE: THE DELIGHTFUL DESIGN

Since 2002, 667 has been known for its classic and charming design. Today, twenty years later, we still keep that enchanting aura but we reached the point where we need to refresh it without losing its magic.

I'm proposing you to make some choices and advance in a renewed path. The Netflix show successfully linked the 667 Dark Avenue building to an art deco style that made total sense with the spirit of the place and made it look classy and interesting.

We should take that lead and redesign the forum's aesthetic, keeping the style intact but adding some key components to make it feel better and fresher than ever, with certain winks to past designs. I'm not only proposing a new banner, but a new set of buttons keeping the classic style and some new ones that will bring some memories to our oldest members.

The forum will not just consist of one new design template, but multiple ones: you can always choose the classic one, or the valentine's day one, or even a christmas special. Even more, if you solve some puzzles, win some games and post enough, you can unlock new styles to be the most unique member here.

Soon, I'll upload here a beta of the new look I want to offer you guys.

STEP TWO: THE BRAVE BRANCHING

667 is a forum and it shouldn't stop being one.

We survived since 2002 in this platform and we don't plan to go anywhere, but today we're living in a pretty dynamic world were you need to keep moving and updating your brand to not be left behind. The virtual world we live in and interact with demands us to be everywhere in every form possible.

Some years ago, we started to go down that path with a Twitter account that got fairly popular. Then, when the Netflix show was announced, we opened a Facebook fanpage that became a referencial spot to get all the news related to the show. A few weeks ago, we got our own Discord channel where we can play games, socialize and have fun.

Now we need more, and BETTER. We have to go to Instagram and Tik Tok, edit and make a better Wiki page, design a website to make sure the history of 667 is easily accessible, create quality content to reach all the fans of the Snicket world and include them in a unique place, so unique they won't leave EVER.

The 667 Dark Avenue Universe will become a Multiverse of madness and I have what it takes to make it a reality.

Soon enough, a detailed list of accounts, social media and their functions will be available for you to express your opinion.

STEP THREE: THE FORMIDABLE FOUNDATION

We got used to a virtual space to meet, connect and have fun, and it's been that way since most of us were kids, teenagers or young adults.

Now, I think we have a great possibility ahead of us. The pandemic showed us an ugly reality we need to face: the world can be dark and sinister, but we need to work together to make it a better place to live. Something ASOUE taught us is to be kind, and I think now that most of us are adults we need to take an extra step.

I'm picturing an irl form of 667 Dark Avenue, an actual office to found a non-profitable charity under the name of the forum, or why not, under a Very Fancy Denomination of our choice. We have associates around the world and we can work hard to open different offices everywhere with the noble purpose of helping people through literature. That's what connected us all, so why shouldn't we put that love for books into helping those who need it the most?

We are going to have special events and games. Big Brother, The Apprentice, Valentine's Day, Christmas, 667 Dark Avenue's Anniversary, VFDoor are some of the special events that'll have their own templates. There'll be some time-limited templates and some exclusive ones that you have to unlock by reaching a certain amount of posts or winning some game. There'll be some default templates as I said, like Classic 667, Fresh 667, an special template related to ASOUE, another one related to ATWQ, and so on and so on. We'll be starting with four (ASOUE, ATWQ, Classic, Fresh) and then the sky is the limit.

How will people unlock templates? To the best of my knowledge, per-user themes are not a default Proboards feature -- would you be handling the Javascript plugins required?

I looked and couldn't find anyone else that's done it, or at least not publicly. I'd think it would be possible on Proboards if you were decent with Javascript, but I wouldn't know where to start at this point (and it would be a way bigger pain in the ass than using the default system). Another problem I see is that the entire system is entirely superfluous for mobile users -- this is what the forum looks like for me.

I like being unpopular and looking unflattering. I like that few people pay attention to me. And I like not feeling obligated to interact to gain more followers... But I'm not Dark Avenue after all.
