Okay, well this has derailed slightly, so I may as well post (FYI, I nearly got Chat GPT to write this, but then deleted it and decided to make an effort).

We've been running some variations of these awards since 2008(?!) to commemorate all kinds of contributions members make to life at 667. From celebrating the funniest member, to the best artist, and the member to arrive at the forum in the past year. We've had awards to recognise notoriety, kindness, and dedication to profile decoration. Oh yeah- and something about Lemony Snicket.

But the Most Valued Poster award is unique in that it doesn't celebrate any one trait or achievement. What the award, named after Linda Rhaldeen, celebrates really, is the 667er who shows up, contributes consistently, and adds value to all areas of 667- be that whatever 667 needs most at the time.

The first winner of the award, in 2008, was BSam- and those that remember him, remember one of the longest, and most consistently posting members here. Dante, of course, has won multiple times (3 looking back at the archives), and though leaving in 2021, it isn't hard to perceive how his legacy lives on. Hermes, and Zortegus have also had multiple wins, and I was even lucky enough to win once back in 2016.

The winner of this year's most valued post is also a multiple-award winner this time, although amazingly they only joined the forum in 2021, post Dante, post netflix series, and post all the wrong questions. Anyone who knew the resilience of 667 and this community less well, might be understood in thinking that things were really winding down here, but looking back at this award show, the most recent threads, and thinking about all the people I've met from here, although we're not in our heyday anymore, it's easy to see that 667 is still going- and that's enough for me.

I called him myself, "667's last hope" and while we might now be searching for a new hope, the door is always open to our old members who have moved on and left us, for whatever reason. Either that, or his memory is a testament to how every so often this community has one surprisingly amazing person come out of seemingly nowhere, and breathe new life and freshness into a forum that is now over 20 years old.

The winner of the Linda Rhaldeen Award for Most Valued Poster for 2023, is, of course, Semblance!

Apologies. I've been having a difficult few days so it was hard to focus on these things.

Anyhow, here are some Award Stats for this year. First, a couple of fun things I've noticed.
- Zortegus has techinically won two award for Best Pairing, but do i count them as one win or two? Ultimately i've opted for yes, but with the cavet that the 5 awards he has won this year does not count as beating the all-time record of 4 out of 13.
- Chow has recieved 10 votes, which is unusually high for a new member (and baby).
- I have now won Best Organiser more times than anyone else (4) and have been nominated more times than anybody else (8) but this is the firest time i've won in six years
- Bear has now won Best Profile Decoration an impressive 5 times.
- and VioletBUNfortunate has won Best Artist 4 times.
