From the Publisher Lemony Snicket's upsetting serial about the perfectly likeable but hopelessly doomed Baudelaire orphans continues to depress readers everywhere. In this 11th installment in A Series of Unfortunate Events, the ill-fated siblings are adrift in a sea of awfulness that includes a submarine, a determined villain with a stylish girlfriend, mushrooms, an alarming message from a lost friend, and hypochondria. This dark, damp, distressing chronicle is likely the worst yet in what has become a deeply disturbing worldwide phenomenon.

Exactimundo my friend. :)Making it longer, just makes us want to buy it more, and savor it more. I'm pre-ordering it. I can't get to the bookstore fast enough.

I've figured out why there hasn't yet been a yellow-spined book. It's because yellow is the color of sunshine and happiness, and would better befit the likes of Loney M. Setnick. Have you noticed that the spine color of every book is found in the cover illustration's border?(On the US covers anyway.) This implies that The Grim Grotto's border and cover picture will be oceanically themed. 352 pages! Sounds great. The books are getting both longer and better. I'll probably finish book 11 in one day.

yeah, the more there is, the more to savor. Ill probably read it in one day, too. You could probably wait for the cover illustration in around August or sooner, please tell if you know the date.

The Slippery Slope cover was first released in mid-June, around the Summer Solstice, coinciding rather neatly with the release of the fifth Harry Potter. However, it was alarmingly tiny. The larger cover was, I think, first sighted in July by a reliable witness. So, keep watching Barnes and Noble and/or Amazon for the cover. But for a few more weeks the art will be too depressing to show.

Oh please. So its going to stop being depressing in mid-june. Really, they get on my nerves.

And what do they mean by 'hypochondria?' I just looked that word up in the dicionary, it means "Abnormal anxiety over ones health." How would that fit into the book?

Basically meaning someone thinks they're sick, but they really aren't. It could mean, because some other people suggest, that Esme eats some poisonous mushrooms, thinks she's sick by eating them, and then really isn't. It's a guess.
