Despite fervent hopes, best wishes, and good intentions, the lives of the Baudelaire siblings continue to get worse. Evidence of this -- and more -- can be found in this ungainly box of books, which contains the three latest and most upsetting volumes in the New York Times best-selling series: The Slippery Slope, The Grim Grotto, and Book the Twelfth. You’d be better off buying a box with more uplifting contents, such as a helium balloon, a set of barbells, or three happier books. He has an eye on his shoulder. That's so cool. And I want one of those badges. Also: I didn't think this merited a sticky.

OMFG that's cool. Olaf is too incompetent to work out where the sugar bowl went. The picture is roxx0rz.

That is one of the best covers ever! I'm so amused by it! Olaf is like a trained comedian! I like how it represents the tables turning. He seems to be rather frustrated by the chart. The menacing smile and egotistical eyes seem to be missing.
Edit: Does anyone notice that octopus (it might be a squid or another sea animal) in the window? Count Olaf doesn't seem to notice it. On the lower-right hand side there's something that I can't make out. It might just be something useful for the submarine or more eyes.

I think my favourite part, aside from Olaf's costume, is the squid outside the window.

I think my favourite part, aside from Olaf's costume, is the squid outside the window. Yeah, I was gonna mention it, but it seemed insignificant.

Hmm... I'm intruiged why he still has a VFD badge. I know he went to the evil schism... but surely they would have made their own... and not used some "filthy" VFD badge?! hmm...

That's a wonderful cover. I love Olaf's costume, and his weary, frustrated look.

It looks like there is an eye on the map in the middle of it. Also in the descriptin it says: such as a helium balloon, a set of barbells. The helium balloon has to be for book the twelfth and so must be the barbells.

Not necessarily; a helium balloon's different from a hot-air balloon. The barbells and balloons are just mentioned as puns on "uplifting".

The helium balloons and barbells are examples of things which the Gloom Looms is not about. It's a play on the word "uplifting."
Edit: Antenora wins.

Certainly the tables are turning. I like the look on Olaf's face, as if he's getting tired of chasing around "those Baudelaire brats."
And yes, I also think Antenora wins...
Thanks for posting this, Dante.
