The leeches shredded the life jackets, possibly causing Josephine to drown and get eaten. But wasn't she supposed to be a good swimmer? I need to reread TWW.
By the way, I'm seeing the movie today.

Yes, she was supposed to be a good swimmer - the Baudelaires even mentioned it as Olaf drove the boat away. Josephine's death was incredibly ambiguous. Edit: And I hope you enjoy the movie.

I'm lost, Dante. Josephine being alive was my theory, back in the day. I'm still convinced she's alive. *reminiscing* Since when did you start calling me Snicketfires, Zach? *teases* Well if I said Kelsea I wasn't sure everyone would know who I was talking about. I sorry.

I think it's either another word for horrible that starts with an h, and then Hotel, or the Deadly Denounment. That's what makes sense to me.

We've already had THH, and we're pretty sure that he's not going to reuse any letters. Deadly Denouement makes sense, but Denouement usually refers to the end of a book or series, and so would not really be appropriate for Book the Twelfth.

He usually refers to a thing or place, with the exception of Bad beginning, not to a places name

Of course, if "The Deadly Denouement" was the title of Book the Thirteenth, and they don't reach Hotel Denouement - or at least don't explore its significance - in Book the Twelfth, that would make sense, because both the first and last books would have titles referring to their position in the series.
Disclaimer: I do not believe that any of the books will be called "The [adjective] Denouement". I'm simply describing a hypothetical situtation. Try to entertain thoughts without accepting them.
