Well, if US and Australia is getting it on October 18th, I'll keep my fingers crossed for the same date in UK for you. (Wouldn't that be nice for a change?)

Well, if US and Australia is getting it on October 18th, I'll keep my fingers crossed for the same date in UK for you. (Wouldn't that be nice for a change?) Yes, it would be so nice... Have I ever ranted to you about TSS? It took about six months to come out here after it came out in America! I ended up buying an American edition. Quite a few stores had those, clearly seeing that there was a profit to be made among people not willing to wait several months just to get the correct cover. That experience left me with two copies of TSS, and an everlasting, burning, furious resentment. But yes, it would be great to have them at the same time. I'd like to get straight into the discussions, not come back after reading the book to discover that everything had already been discussed, and that there was nothing left for me to say. Edit: Excuse my rambling complaints, which I'm sure I've repeated on multiple occasions at least within this thread. I just have to get it out of my system. Ahem. Anyway, maybe they're aiming for a shared release date in America, England and Australia. However, the books have a different publisher in England, so I don't know... I could always buy an American edition, if they shipped them in on time. But I still fully expect to be disappointed.

It's alright, rant away. I would feel the same way if I were in your shoes.
I did a little more searching. Egmont publishes the books in UK. On their site, they have a link to Unfortunateevents.com. They have October 18th listed as the release date. It's not the official word, but it's the best I could come up with.
Have you thought of contacting Egmont?

Contact Egmont? I'm not really a "contacting" person... But I suppose I don't have anything to lose. Unless the whole site is secretly a prank site, and as soon as I e-mail them, the contents of my e-mail will be read out on live TV along with my address, and then they'll come and egg my house. Stupid lousy pranking filth.
Woah. Okay, I got really carried away there.

I wish the United Kingdom the best of luck in getting Book 12 on October 18th, if not earlier. And maybe they're indeed having a shared release date; that would make things much easier for everyone.

You getting carried away was rather hilarious in my opinion. *stifles laughs* But it does seem as though the UK's FINALLY getting the same release date as everyone else, so everyone should be somewhat happy. And now I've lost my countdown number. EDIT: 64 days.

Yeah if only the UK got the books the same time as the US . If that happened then I wouldn't accidently find out happens in the new book. It happend with TSS it wasn't out in the UK but I went onto unfortunateevents.com and as soon s I signed into the message board and clicked on unfortunate events I came across a not so tiny fact that Carmelita Spats had returned. But I don't think that the UK version will come out the same time as the US version. Maybe November something and Hopefully if it is out in November then it is out before the fourth as then I will be able to have it for my birthday.

I too hope that there will be a shared release date. That'd just make it tons easier for everyone.

63 more days! Only 9 more weeks! Wow, that really doesn't sound too long. But, I bet, by the time it gets to about 30 days time will go so slowly. I always find that, when waiting for something the last for days/weeks go so slowly. The only thing that stopped me getting too annoyed about TSS is that I think our covers are better. But it wouldn't take 6 months to do the cover. What makes it have a difference anyway?

Like TAA I like the US cover better than the UK version.

Discuss the covers here, and in some cases, here.
