I'll keep after both of my contacts and try to get an answer. The last 2 books were both released in September. Go back to TCC, which was released in October.

I'm just glad I have installments of other series to look forward to before then though. But yes it is quite a long time especially considering that the last few have come out a month beforehand.

Anyway, I was browsing Amazon.co.uk to see if they had Book the Twelfth listed yet. I didn't expect it to be, of course, but there you go. Anyway, I located these two interesting volumes, both titled "Series of Unfortunate Events - Untitled, A" with a release date of October 5th, 2005. www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/0007174659/qid=1108043943/sr=1-90/ref=sr_1_2_90/026-8041834-7666803www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/0007174667/qid=1108043978/sr=1-118/ref=sr_1_2_118/026-8041834-7666803They are priced £5 and £7 higher than the Grim Grotto respectively, which in your Americaland dollars would average out at around $10. Now, these could be anything. They could be Book the Twelfth. They could be something new. They could be two different items, or the same one. They could be nearly anything, considering they were on the second-to-last page of a search for Snicket as an author, along with a bunch of coverless foreign versions and alternative releases. Frankly, knowing Amazon.co.uk (didn't have a cover for the Grim Grotto until more than a month after its release; still don't have a cover for the Blank Book) then these could just be blank junk files that will get deleted or left to stagnate. But I thought you should know.

Weird and nearly intolerable... Has anyone confirmed this date yet? Again, my insider at Harper-Collins said there is no release date on record. Yet. I'll ask again next week.

But I thought you should know. You're sounding like Lemony. Non-definitive and vague. October 5th would certainly be better but we've no idea if either of those will turn out to be book 12.

So what if it's not a tuesday? If there's no confirmed release date, then the actual one doesn't have to be on a tuesday if it hasn't been confirmed yet.

It's official! I spoke with my contact at Harper-Collins (she's the director of publicity) and she confirmed the October 18th date. It should just be a matter of time before Amazon puts it up.
Next I'll have to start asking for a title.
