On TNN on the mystery the second thing, It shows one of those painting thingys described in TAA about what happens to someone/thing, and some of it shows (I think) Esme at a tea party, an unraveling elevator rope,(eek!) and a guy THAT LOOKS LIKE MR. POE pressing an elevator button. DUH DUH DUN!  |

possibly, but that woman doesn't look much like esme to me (she is wearing clothes which do not appear too stylish and is a bit on the chubby side, unlike the other pictures drawn of her)...I think that she is earsdropping and judging by the moustache on the ground, she IS the man going to floor 7

THE MAN IS NOT MR. POE!!! Mr. Poe does NOT have a mustache.
That is a fact, quite simply. There are obviously a lot of new characters in the hotel. Darn, I was hoping it would at least be someone we would know. I am getting frustrated.

I think Mr. Poe has a mustache. The rope breaking (assuming it's an elevator rope) wouldn't do anything because it would just break. I suppose the eavesdropping lady refers to Viola who had to disguise herself as a boy for a period of time.

Look at the last picture in The Wide Window. Mr. Poe is standing at the gate. He has glasses and no mustache. The man in the elevator has no glasses and a mustache. Hope that makes sense. But if it IS Mr. Poe (and I could be wrong about it being somebody we have never met), by some stretch of the imagination, and Poe is trying to disguise himself by not wearing his glasses and putting on a fake mustache, then he is in a pretty poorly done disguise.  |

Hm. Good point, Hooky. I always imagined Poe as being the sort of person to wear a moustache. However, comparing the last pictures of TWW, and the right-hand picture in the triptych, then you're right, they do appear to be two completely different individuals. I'm quite glad you pointed that out.
However, we're trying to limit speculation based on what we're given by TheNamelessNovel.com firmly to the big TheNamelessNovel.com thread, so if you could keep it there, please?
