I loved the first picture, Chapter Twelve picture, and the Chapter Ten picture.

I really liked Chapter Six, Ten, Thirteen and the final picture, but the mysterious taxi driver wins. For some reason, I really like that picture. He just looks so shadowy and dark.

I'll have to agree with Dante. The mysterious man picture is great. I liked the second picture with Kit and the Bauds looking in the pond too.

Also the mysterious man. He looked so mysterious. But I also liked the goat picture, the bauds-in-boat picture, and the taxi picture at the beginning. I also liked the triptych, although we knew about that one long before the book was released.

I liked the central picture with Dewey climbing down into the lobby. The great dome of the hotel's ceiling is really cool. And the picture of Olaf and the Baudelaires at the end is great.

I liked the opening and closing pictures, and the dome one as well.
I felt that some of the chapter pictures, like Chapters Seven (frog lamp), Eight (dwarves) and Nine (goat) didn't really have as much to do with the story as I would have liked them to have. I really liked the Chapter Ten picture.

i didn't like the goat at all. That goat was possibly the scariest picture Brett Helquist has ever drawn. EVER.

Yeah those were the seven dwarves.
I liked all of the pictures but the final full page was my favourite.

They're the 7 dwarves, mentioned in Snicket's aside about the denouements and endings of stories. I usually don't much like illustrations that relate to Snicket's digressions rather than the story, but the goat and dwarves were pretty funny.

I love the final picture. This was the weirdest, most distressing ending ever for me, and seeing the Bauds alone in a Viking boat with Olaf rowing away with spatulas just really hits it home...

The goat and the dwarves were rather random, as was the frog-lamp, but I quite liked the goat, really (and I thought the Chapter Two picture was very well-drawn). And I concur, Flaneur, about the last picture. It really is very striking.
Oh, and I quite liked Helquist's illustration of himself as a maid in the back.

I think the frog lamp was relevent to the chapter, unlike the dwarves and the goat. It's a shame, because chapters eight and nine where the chapters which could have had some really cool pictures.
